thought I would post about this again in hopes that some one has an idea of what to do

My hot water heater didn't get the suggested routine maintenance done on it so now that DH isn't here

to fix the problem it is being contrary...some times I have water pressure but most of the time I don't when I do I have hot water...my son drained the tank several time but there is a clog pipe or what ever somewhere...do any of you have ideas of what to do?? my son was working some crazy hours and just couldn't get it taken care of I know that it bothered Larry a lot just a few days before he died he was trying to draw something I think it was to show son what to do but he didn't have the strength to make the drawing felt so bad for him as we knew it was for the son and think that it was for the hot water tank ...so am hoping you can give me some ideas of what to do or tell son in law what needs to be done
I do know that the starts with an a needs to be replaced...but what to do so I have water consistently??

The starting with the a is the anode. It's screwed in the bottom of the water heater. Sounds like you may have scale built up from hard water. Or do you use a filter? If not, you may have sand/debris in the line.

When you pull the anode to change it, try flushing the heater really well. If it's scale plugging a line, you might try using some vinegar, but then you will have to flush really well to get the vinegar taste out.

It might be an good idea to call a dealership that sells your kind of 5'er and talk to the service dept. Explain your problem and see what suggestions they have.
