If life is a bowl of cherries, why am I here in the pits?

Nancy, so sorry all this is happening. Don't know much about fibromyalgia, but hear it's painful. Like someone said, the stress of losing the checkbookks and all is probably not helping. Only a couple more weeks and we'll have a nice relaxing stay in Tenn. And BJ knows all kinds of relaxing things! We'll just do what we want when we get there and relax! Wendy

you need a (((((((((((((((((((HUG))))))))))))))))))))) and a hot tub :D
I 've suffered Fibro for a good 20 years, and I took arthritis medicine for it but the thing that really did the trick
was malic acid and magnesium. When I had bad flairs I would take that for several days until it went away and
then I would only take the arthritis medicine when I really needed it. After I moved away from Colorado and
got into Arizona with the warm weather, I've had only a few mild one day flair ups. I do a lot of walking too
and the hot tub was fabulous, I never wanted to come out of it but when my feet and hands pruned up, I pretty
much had to.

Sorry about your week Nancy I hope you banking problems all gets sorted out soon. I think Jessica's (jthistle) decision to see a holistic doctor for craniosacral massage is a good idea. You can find an alternative doctor at this web site. http://www.abihm.org/search-doctors I also think seeing a well trained massage therapist is helpful for everyone, I call it preventative medicine it does really help with relieving stress.
I believe the mind is very powerful and that hypnosis helps one access the power of your mind. Recent studies are saying that hypnosis is better for fibromyalgia than the medications currently being prescribed.
The following is from this web site http://www.fibromyalgia-symptoms.org/fi ... nosis.html

How Does Hypnosis Work?

Researchers are not completely sure how hypnosis therapy works or why it works so well in fibromyalgia patients. A recent study performed at the University of Iowa looked to explain what actually happens to the brain during hypnosis. Brain scans were taken of chronic pain sufferers in hypnotic trances and analyzed for activity changes. Researchers found that people under hypnosis had reduced activity in pain network areas of the brain. In particular, the area of the brain responsible for "feeling" pain had significantly reduced activity levels. This suggests that hypnosis treatment works because it actually has a physical effect on the brain.

Effects of Hypnosis on Fibromyalgia Sufferers
Many fibromyalgia sufferers attribute reduction in their symptoms to the power of hypnosis. Fibromyalgia sufferers often use hypnosis as a way to limit their pain symptoms and increase their energy and comfort level. A study conducted by the NIH showed that fibromyalgia sufferers undergoing hypnosis reported 80% fewer pain symptoms than those who received no hypnosis treatment. Other benefits of hypnosis include:

decreased muscle pain
decreased morning fatigue
fewer sleep difficulties
increased relaxation

Self hypnosis is very easy to learn and can be done over Skype as can hypnosis. I know we are all brainwashed to think we need a pill but now with the TV ads tell in graphic detail just what the side effects of those pills are is making people stop and think if maybe they should look into alternative solutions. Fortunately a lot of very reputable research is being done on alternative healing. I became convinced of the power of hypnosis when I was able to use it along with Reiki to stop my occasional migraine headaches.

Wow. What a mess with the stolen checks. Sounds like you are doing a good job of staying ahead of the crooks. Having worked at the top level of a state taxing agency, I suggest you keep appealing any penalty they refuse to waive. These agencies usually have an administrative appeals "court," which in our case can then be appealed to the tax commissioners as well.

I have no experience with fibromyalgia -- and I am a real baby when it comes to pain -- so my heart goes out to you. I am so impressed by your success with weaning yourself off of narcotics while still in pain. Hope you can head out on the road and live your dream.

I have gone back through your posts twice trying to find the one who mentioned liking my 'topic'. I must admit it's not original..it's the title of an Erma Bombeck book. I loved her and another who left us to soon. Come to think of it, I think I'll pull out one of her books or get it through Amazon on my kindle. Laughter is always the best medicine..God knew what he was doing
