Hello Ladies!

Hi everyone,
I am new to the site and was so excited to find y'all! A little about me....
I am Mom to an awesome teenage son and two high maintenance dogs. Have a great DH (mostly haha!). We live in northern MD. My parents bought a very 80's Prowler when I was a teen and got me hooked on camping. DH was NOT a camper but a few years ago, we got a pop-up and last year we sold it and bought a 29' Class C. He is now loving it as he has all his comforts and I have my campfire. I love to travel with my family, my mom, friends, or solo. Also love to cook, read, walk/hike, and be on the water.

My job has been crazy busy for the past couple of years so I am reduced to weekends close to home for the near future (sad). Seriously beginning to consider any ways I can work online. Right now, my "office" is at home but I also work on job sites a few times a week (the reason we can't travel much right now). I do survey work for an excavating contractor. DH is a boat captain - and also helps me when his work is slow.
Our dream is to send the kiddo off to soar in a few years and HIT THE ROAD! We are both interested in work-camping and being nomads.
Looking forward to talking with all of you and hoping to see you during our travels!
Have a great day,
Kelly

Good Morning, Kelly!

A Big, Ol' Forum Welcome to you. We're glad you joined us and we'll look forward to getting to know you better.

What kind of dogs are those high maintenance pooches? (that sentence made me chuckle...I have one of those, also).

.

Thanks for the welcome messages! I do plan on posting pics (I love seeing pics also) as soon as I can. We are doing little bits of work on the motorhome so it will be fun to share what we have done and ask advise for future plans. I have some Picasa albums, will try a link to them in a later post.

Our MH is a 1993 Four Winds (29') that we bought last Oct. She is a good girl - and reading some of your posts, it seems she needs a name! We have been lucky to take many trips in the year we have had her. We have gone to Assateague NP many times (my favorite campground for weekend getaways), a mis-adventure at Everglades NP last Christmas (had a breakdown due to newbie error), VA Beach, Hershey PA, NJ, and many baseball tournaments for my son's team. Its been such a great experience.

My "peeps" are a yellow lab (Daisy) and a Heinz57 heeler variety (Dingo). Daisy is my princess who is oh so lazy until anything interesting happens - labs pretty much find everything interesting haha - then she becomes a hot mess. And she is a runner (she feels this is the BEST GAME EVER)...sigh. Dingo is a rescue so he has some challenges. We have had him for about 5 years and he is so much better but has a long way to go...a trainer who worked with him thinks he was abused by people and dogs before we got him. He is a very anxious guy until he feels comfortable. He is by far the most intelligent and obedient dog I have ever had! And he worships me so I adore him right back.

Pics soon, I promise!

One more welcome, Kelly. Sounds like you've got a fun crew. :D
You are probably figuring this out already, but you hit the jackpot when you found this group. :)

Hope to meet you down the road - until then just settle in here & make yourself at home. ;)

Love this saying, Tina. I'm going to have to plaster it all around me. ;) and share it frequently. Thanks for sharing it! :D
