Hi I just found and joined your group yesterday. I have been a full time RVer for the past 6 years. However, I have had my RV parked on my daughters property in Oceanside, California and have only gone on a few local camping trips with my grandchildren. So driving my RV on a long distance trip is not something I have done yet. I love living in my RV and have really enjoyed down sizing. I still own a home in Tucson, Arizona, which I might add I am trying to sell. My daughter and her family are moving to Costa Rica the 1st of Sept., so it will be the first time that I will actually be looking for places to park my RV. Since I live on a fixed income staying in an RV park in California is not in my budget. I plan on just cruzin around town and find different places to park. I have been kind of checking it out for the past 6 months so I have quite a few places already picked out. I can park down at the Harbor for $20.00 a night which I will be doing from time to time.
I know that I could drive my RV over to Tucson and there are RV parks that are affordable, but I really wanted to make it an adventure. All my life I have lived in that box that we choose to live in by societies standards, whatever those are. Since I lost my husband back in 2004 and for the first time in my life I am alone. I am now 70 but I have been married since I was 18. So needless to say the world is my oyster, which I might add at first was scary, but not I love my life and don't want to have another man in it. I remember when my husband died so many things that I had never done on my own, like stay in a hotel alone. To most people would be no big deal but to me it was an adventure. Since I have always believed that women are awesome and can do anything. The RVing to me is so fantastic. Any advise that all you fabulous ladies can help me with I am so open to it. I have owned many businesses over the years, worked for other people too. Business admin. support has always been what I have done when I worked for someone else. Have owned restaurants, upholstery business, have more tools then most men. Use to build furniture. But now that I am getting older am not able to do lots of the things that I have been doing all my life.
When I was 55 I went back to college and got a degree in computer science. Then I got a certification in Web Design and started a computer business. This is just some information about me that I wanted to share with my RVwomen members. I like to share whatever I can with other women so that they can be impowered. Please feel free to contact me at anytime. You can always reach me at lynpinto@gmail.com Thanks for your time.
