Geez, I can't even proof read.......

Come on in and say hello.

Hello Ladies!

Postby lak99 » Wed Jul 11, 2012 10:17 pm

Yes, I am the newest member. Right now I am not RVing but I am seriously thinking about it.
I currently live in Michigan. My rig is a truck and camper. Although I haven't camped
much since my husband died 12 years ago, it is definately time to get with it again. I will be
camping with my two babies, Andy and Sparkle, my two 13 year old Himalayan kitties. Is anyone
out there in Michigan? Where are some good places to start camping again?

I hope to meet many, not all of you in the future.

I'm full time - so always on the move. I'm in Valdez, AK for the summer.

There's a lot of rooms to this forum, take your time and ask questions if you get lost :) Or if you just have a question! - and many more will be here to greet you as time passes.

Hi Leslie - Welcome! I'm a newbie too, so I'm still learning to navigate as well. But not knowing much hasn't stopped me from popping into the middle of conversations, and it doesn't need to stop you either. ;)

I'm sure you'll hear from Colliemom, also from Michigan. Glad to have you here.

Hi Ellen,

Nice to meet you. I am currently in Michigan BUT my love is still in Washington. I used
to own a condo on Bainbridge Island right at the ferry dock. I sold it and have regretted
it ever since. My only sibling, a sister, lives in Port Orchard, Wa.

Are you currently rving? I am widowed and will be traveling alone with my kitties.
It is a little scarry. Are any other ladies traveling alone?

Leslie - Someone else will have to chime in here, since I'm so new, but I get the impression that most of the ladies here travel alone most of the time. That gives me courage!

Bainbridge Island and Port Orchard are lovely parts of the state - some of the gazillion places I want to explore. I live 350+ miles east of there, just 30 miles from the Idaho border.

My first RV trip will be at the end of September to the Northwest GTG in Southern Oregon - see the Get Togethers board. I'm renting a 24' motorhome from Cruise America to get a feel for the whole RV "thing." I still work full-time, so I'm limited by not enough vacation time - is there ever enough?? But I'm starting to think hard about purchasing in the next 12-18 months so I can play as much as possible before I retire, probably in 4 years, instead of just launching into RV space then. Haven't ruled out full-timing either.

Hi Leslie, Welcome. I too am a newbie. Currently living in Texas. I have really enjoyed reading the blogs of the forum members that are currently exploring Alaska. There are several other forum members at different stages of moving from their homes (stick and brick as they call them) to become full timers.

Hi Leslie and welcome. I am one of the ladies currently in the process of emptying my S&B to be able to go full time. Am taking my Mom with me. My brother will be traveling with us in his own MH. For the time being, I live in Texas too.

Please feel free to jump in on any conversation. We love different opinions and are definitely not afraid to offer ours.  We love to travel with you or help you get ready to travel, no matter what stage you're in, through your posts and pics. We love pics.

Welcome from SoCal! Just keep planning and eventually you'll get tired of wishing and buy something and get on the road. Happened to a lot of the ladies on this forum. Hitch itch seems to be a contagious disease here. A few travel with their hubbies, quite a few travel with their kitty buddies.

Welcome Leslie from Texas. I was raised in the Seattle area before moving to Southern California. Feel free to jump in anywhere. Most of us travel alone or with our pets. I'm headed to South Dakota Friday morning. Taking my friend Carole with me. We love pictures - check out the Tech thread to learn how if you need help.
