Howdy to everyone! I will be officially retiring (stop working for money) in about a year and want to start doing more traveling. I've always had a dream of getting an RV and just traveling throughout the US, and the time is rapidly approaching when I will be able to do so. I don't know if I'll be full time but it would be nice to just take off for a month or so and go meandering. I've starting reading other blogs and found this forum through a blog roll. I look forward to learning from you and sharing in your adventures! It will just be me and my dog Oliver, and German Shepherd mix I adopted about 3 years ago.

Welcome Cari
glad you found us, this is a wonderful group of ladies and many fulltime and others just parttime. I still have a ways to go yet for my
retirement myself but I'll be fulltime only I'll stay put in AZ in the winters cause of family but come summertime, I'm off to cooler
weather. :D Ask all the questions you like, if we can't answer them we'll certainly have an opinion or two. Do you know yet
what type of rv you want? Most of us travel with our little four footers, sometimes two. So just jump in where ever and don't
be shy.

Hi Cari! Welcome to a very crazy group of women. We are from all around the country and travel in everything from A-line trailers to big ol' Class A diesel pushers. We've all been where you are -- thinking about getting a home on wheels and exploring the world.

This forum is about so much more than just travel. It's about getting ready to travel. About traveling solo vs. as a couple, with friends or in a caravan. About being no longer able to travel. About adventures on the road. About traveling with pets. About the sistahs getting together either as a group or when our paths cross.

As an example, I'm in the process of getting my house ready to sell so that I can set out on the road. And the Forum women have rallied in tremendous support -- even though this is probably the fifth time I have announced I would do this.  This time it's happening. Really it is. Honest.

So join in, Cari. Tell us about your plans, your search for a rig and, by all means, post pictures. We love pictures. And join in the conversations.

Hi Cari! Welcome from another Texan. I am just west of Ft. Worth and am in the process of emptying my house to go full time on the road also. As the others have said, jump right in with questions.

You have come to a great place. This group of ladies come from all over, all walks of life and travel in lots of ways from full time, part time, weekends and dreaming of being on the road. Some travel solo, some with spouses or partners, and in my case with Mom and brother. We love to travel with you, no matter the circumstance, through your posts. The ladies here are very supportive. We do love pictures.

Here's a big Texas welcome from another Texan - I'm in the Kerrville area. This group of ladies has helped several others get on the road and we're happy to help you as well. Check out the technical area to learn how to post pictures. We're having a GTG (get together) in October at Potter's Creek on Canyon Lake. Not sure if they have cabins. Would be a great chance for you to meet some of us.

Welcome from the Texas Gulf Coast area! I have several years to think about retirement and all the travel I want to do, but I have my small trailer and I'm not afraid to use it!!!

Like the others said, this is a diverse group of women - we all have opinions, sometimes even resembling the truth. And we love to travel along with our friends via pictures.

I'll second the Texas GTG at Potter's Creek later this year. It will be the first time for me to meet many of these fine ladies although I hope to meet Colliemom in a couple of weeks when I travel to Michigan.
