Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. I found out about this group last summer while on my way back to New York from Texas. I ran into a gal named Sharon who was also traveling alone. Sharon gave me the name of this list but since I don't do anything fast, it's taken me this long to join. <vbg>

My name is Ronni (not short for anything and no 'e' please..and I am a gal..lol) and I live in New York about 65 miles north of the Big Apple. I'm married (almost 47 years...yikes...lol) and I'm retired. Before retiring, I was a secretary for the school district here so I had summers off and traveled all over the place....without hubby! lol What I mean is...I drove the RV to where we were going and hubby flew out to meet me. Hubby is not retired. :( Yet.

We started out with a 2001 class C. No slides, tiny bathroom, but we had a great time in it. Then, last summer while on the way to visit our kids in TX, the engine on the rv blew up...threw a rod! I had to replace the engine and after a week was able to continue on my trip. Oh...did I forget to mention I travel with 8 dogs? Yep...8 Papillons who I show. Needless to say, while the rv was being repaired, I had to sneak my dogs into a motel with a 2 dog policy...good thing my dogs are well behaved and the owner never knew they were all there. The gals behind the desk were great and would warn me when the owner was around.

Hubby felt it was time to bite the bullet and we went RV shopping while in TX. We found a new Class A that we love. It's a Monaco Riptide with bunk beds for the grandkids or dogs (depends on where we are) and compared to the old class C, it's nice and roomy. Since we got it in August, I've put 8k miles on it and that wasn't even using it during the winter.

I'm now getting ready for my first trip of the season...just making it local for a long weekend. Mid June I leave for my summer marathon trip....first to FL, then on to TX. Hubby will meet me in both places.

Hope to meet some of you along the way! Hope this intro wasn't to long!! :o

Welcome to the forum. Can you believe this - there are 2 of us that have ties in Schertz. We are, longdog2, she lives there, and that's my address as my brother lives there. Then so many ladies within a few miles of there in Universal City, Converse, Selma and Windcrest, not to mention San Antonio.

So when will you be in Texas this year. We have a big GTG the end of October first of November at Potters Creek Canyon Lake west of New Braunfels. Would be great if you could be there. We have two Sharons who will be there. Maybe you will recognize one of them, but then maybe it was another of the Sharons.

I know you are loving that huge big rig. The signature is found in the Control Panel, second tab - profile. Signature and avatar. Post pics is located on the Board Index Tech and Maintenance. If you don't have a preference for a photo hosting use Picasa as it is easier. Instructions are located there.

Oh wow...now I can say I know people in Schertz other than my kids! I'll be there somewhere around the 12th of July and will be there till mid August. Would love to meet you! I stay at Stone Creek RV park.

Now...the only tabs I see are below this window...one says options, the other says upload attachment. I don't see anything about a profile, or how to save a picture as my avatar or saving a signature. I consider myself fairly computer savvy...but I just can't find the tabs you mentioned. :( I have no clue where the control panel is. It's probably staring me in the face but I just can't find it!

Welcome Ronni to another New York gal. I'm in Arkansas but who knows somewhere out there we might meet at a gtg. I looked at a Monaco Riptide just last week. I am considering moving up to a larger size but not sure I want to tow a car.
