Newbie from Texas!

Hello everybody! I am from the Houston Texas area and my best friend is in the San Antonio area. We are seriously considering buying a very small, new Skyline Mountainview 140 Travel Trailer and were a bit concerned that being women, it might be more than we can handle-- then we saw this group! My BF is a widow and newly retired and although my husband is still ticking...he doesn't like to move very far from his recliner. :o) My friend is 56 and I am a young (lol) 61. We hope to learn a lot from all of you experienced women and it's nice to know we can ask questions and won't be laughed at for our ignorance.

Well, we may laugh at you, oops - mean with you - but seriously no - you can ask anything and the laughter is always together - and we all do laugh at ourselves here. Read about some of the gaffes we have all admitted to   Yep, some good ones.

Glad to have you with us - and yep, you can do it. And if you want to meet some of us - we're having a gtg (get together) starting Thursday for a week in Port Aransas - come on down - even if just for a day. Check the get together room for more info.

Welcome from another Texas woman whose husband would rather sit at home in his recliner. You can do it no problem. I tow a 31 ft 5th wheel. See you camping soon.

Hi there - I'm in the Houston area as well and pull a 16' trailer. Sometimes, my BF goes with me and sometimes I go solo if he has to work. I haven't had the opportunity to meet any of these women in person yet, but in the month I've been posting I have determined that they are a fun-loving and caring group.

Welcome. I travel alone with my dogs and also leave an "occupied recliner"... back in Ohio. He had his chance to pretend he was interested in traveling and more to the point.... willing to spend his money on some and didn't. So I am spending what change I have on what I have always wanted to do. When I remind either of my kids that there may not be much left to inherit when I am done, my son's response is...." but what do I do with "half" a dog?"

Thanks everyone, for the warm welcome! We will keep you posted on the future purchase...my best friend will be introducing herself to the group soon. I wish we could make Port Aransas this weekend but too short of notice so we can't make it, darn!

Hi, welcome to the forum. Glad you joined us. You will do fine with whatever you get. There are two of you talking about traveling together with a small trailer. There are a number of us on here who tow trailers and even 5ers alone. So if we can do it, so can you. This coming from somebody who hemmed and hawed about it two years ago and finally got enough encouragement and help from these wonderful ladies to take the plunge. No regrets.

Hi, welcome to the group. I too am looking to buy a class a or class c. I will be traveling and living full time alone. We can do it! These ladies have given me the confidence.
This group is great and everyone is so nice and helpful. Take pictures when you buy your rv. love to see it as you go. When I get mine we will share pictures. Hopefully we can all meet, would't that be fun!
