Hello from Oklahoma

Come on in and say hello.

Hello from Oklahoma

Postby janjan » Thu Jun 23, 2011 1:54 pm

My name is Janet. I live in a small town in eastern Oklahoma on Lake Tenkiller. We have owned several RVs but at this time we have a 33ft motorhome. I really enjoy traveling in it and at this time I am loading it for a trip to north GA to see the kids and grandkids.
I enjoy working on the family genealogy and spend too much time doing it.
I love reading everyone's post and seeing the pictures you post. :D

Hi and Welcome, Janet.

So glad to have you with us. Please jump in where ever you want, whenever you want. And I hope you have a great trip to GA.

I spent just a little bit of time working on my families genealogy and realize how addicting it can be! I broke off from it and sometimes would like to start again, but know that I'd lose track of time all over again.

Welcome, I tried to do the genealogy thing too but had a lot of dead ends cause all the websites wanted me to pay money. But it was fun. My mothers side of the family is from Oklahoma. I look forward to your pics and posts :D of your trips.

Hey welcome Janet. I grew up down near Atoka in SE OK. Currently at the Fleetwood National Rally in Shawnee. Hope you have a great trip to GA and know you will enjoy those grandkids. Let me know if you get down toward San Antonio anytime this year. Lots of Sistahs between here and GA.

What kind of MH are you currently in? Do you get to do the driving? Are you solo or do you have a DH or partner? No one has told you how nosey we are about each other. They did ask for pics I noticed, so I thought I should ask these other questions.

Looking forward to hearing more from you on any and all of the threads.

Hi Janet, welcome to the forum. Glad you're here. I share your love of genealogy & I'm fortunate to live in Salt Lake City, near what I call the "mother ship" of family history research.

Have safe travels to Georgia!

Thank you for all the greetings.
Birdie we have a 2003 Monoco V10 that we bought new. I would like to use it more but husband says we are already at the lake so why go. It looks like a lot of people are camping at our local park at the lake. It was flooded most of the spring.
We stop as Shawnee at lot and eat on our way home from Oklahoma City when we go.
We have been to San Antonio many years ago. Went to the River Walk and really enjoyed it.

Getupngo you are reallly lucky being so close to Salt Lake City. I have been indexing records for the LDS. Many free records on line now for anyone to use.

Avalen you might want to take a look at the LDS site. More and more being added all the time.

I'm late with the welcome but as they say..... We're pretty close neighbors, I'm in Arkansas...I see you're another brave one, doing the hooking and towing thing..I just got back from Florida and as much as I love my 24' foot mh, my back was not adjusting to the propped up pillows as much as last time out...I might be posting Destiny 'for sale' and looking for one that has a recliner and a real bed. I can learn to hook up and tow if everyone else can. It will be different but we do what we have to do. You will probably come across AR on I-30 which will be 60 miles S of me but maybe we'll meet at a GTG soon :D

Welcome Janet! I'm in SoCal but my family is from Oklahoma and Missouri. I'll be in Fayetteville, Ar in October to see the grands and for the Bike, Blues and BBQ festival. I'll probably drive over to Tulsa to see my fave Aunt and Uncle, too. There's also a GTG in SE Arkansas in October. Would be great if you could make it down for that.
