THIS TIME NEXT YEAR

Come on in and say hello.

THIS TIME NEXT YEAR

Postby MeandMyDog » Mon Feb 28, 2011 10:21 pm

Hi - I'm a new member here, and am planning to retire at the end of this year (2011) and full time in my new-to-me Class C RV (which I don't have yet). I'm hoping to find a small 24 to 26 foot used RV after the summer, lease my condo, and live in a local RV park until the end of the year. Once I'm retired and comfortable with the RV and all it's systems, me and my dog, Katie are going to go on the road. We're living in San Marcos now, in North San Diego County.

I wrote a longer intro, but somehow it disappeared and I'm not sure if it got posted or not, so I won't try to repeat it. I have a blog, Me and My Dog (dewelldesigns.blogspot.com). I haven't been posting too much lately, but will pick it up closer to the summer when I'm closer to my dream.
Stop by and visit when you can. :P

Hi Barbara and Welcome. Glad to have you with us. This is the only post that made it to the board - so go ahead and write away anything else you want to tell. I did similar to you almost 7 years ago now and love to see others with this desire and following through.

Hope to see you lots on here - and then someday, hopefully we'll meet on the road :)

Hi Barbara
I've been reading and enjoying your blog for a while now. Your plans sound like they are well laid out and you are allowing yourself enough time to find that right rig and yet ready to pick it up early if you find it. You'll get lots of ideas and help here. Glad you found the forum.

Welcome Barbara,
That is so exciting and it sounds like you have a good plan to fulfill your dream. I for one am envious as my DH and I have another 2 1/2 years until full retirement. In the meantime, we will be staying close to home in local Kentucky state parks and getting the feel of the rig. Looking forward to perusing your blog and seeing pics, pics, and more pics ! ;) ;) ;)

Hi Barbara,

I'll add my welcome to the forum along with the others here. Sounds like you have your ducks all lined up and are shooting them down one at a time. I just got into the RVing thing myself last year and if all goes well, will be towing my TT on it's first long trip in June for about a week or so. Hoping it will give me some idea if I want to continue towing or do something else. And I too am thinking seriously of putting my house on the market this year. Hope to spend some time in FL next winter as well.

Looking forward to see how you progress over the summer and then with your travels as you roll along the highways and byways of this great country.

Welcome Barbara! I am just returning to the forum after a couple of years away. We have purchased our RV and plan to hit the road in it in May. We have just started preparations and getting excited! Will be fun to see how it goes for you and I this year! Look forward to reading your posts.

Hi Barbara - Welcome to the forum. Read your blog some time ago. Can you believe it's almost time to head out?? Sounds like you have everything in order. Good luck. Hope to hear more from you.
