Hi! I'm Rita from mid Minnesota. My husband, John and I are getting ready to make some big changes in our lives and while we won't be giving up our old farmhouse and living on the road we plan to do lots of traveling. We are renovating a 1969 Shasta Loflyte and will take it out on it's first long journey in October when we head to the southwest. Breezie, the Brussels Griffon who never likes to be left out will travel with us. Since she is a smalll dog, she'll fit right in the Shasta with us. I have been reading the forum and you all seem to be a great group. Winter is getting long and boring her in Minnesota so I'll be reading about your winter travels and enjoying the road too!

Hi, I'm Rita and I live in central Minnesota. Right now we aren't thinking much about camping but spring will be here soon. Right?? My husband, John and I love to camp and use a Coleman pop up which we love. It's one step up from tenting and a little more comforatble. We haven't been able to do much traveling as yet so most of our trips are local. We are renovating a 1969 Shasta Loflyte and hope to have it on the road this summer. While we love the pop up, the loading and setting up is more than we care to do anymore. We want to pull into the site and after a few chores be set up and able to relax. After April we will be able to get more cammping in as John will retire. Our big trip will be in October when we head to Arizona. We live on a small farm and grow vegetables and raspberries which we sell at our roadside stand and farmer's markets. Spring and summer are busy here, but after the gardens are established we do find possible to get away for 3 or 4 days. By October we will be ready for a long break. We have a dog Breezie, the Brussel's Griffon who insists on going where we go. I'm so happy to be on this forum and hope to become more independant with the traleer. John does all the driving, but I think it's about time I take over some of that responsibility. Thanks for having me as part of the group.

Hi Rita,
First, let me apologize for the tardiness in getting your post approved. All my fault and please don't take it as a bad sign of this group of wonderful women. Since I changed over to this system, we aren't getting spammers anymore (I shouldn't say that - then they will come haha) but it means I need to be more diligent in finding the posts that need approval.)
I'm glad to have you with us and I agree that the popup would be more work setting up (and taking down) than I'd want to do. You'll love the new ease of set-up. Do you plan to spend the winter in AZ? I love the desert and hope to spend part of next winter there. Many on the forum are there now and every winter.

Welcome Rita. Glad you joined this group. Are you coming thru Texas on your way to AZ? I'm in Kerrville, TX right off Hwy I-10. If you come anywhere near you have to stop and say hello.

Welcome, Rita! You've really had a nasty winter...brrrrrrrrr...
We'd love to see picture of Project Shasta!
Sounds really interesting.
And yes, I agree that you should learn to drive the trailer. It's not that hard (well, except the backing up part, for me.)
Jump in wherever you want. We'll look forward to getting to know you better.

Welcome Rita! I just moved from Minnesota to California last October. Couldn't take the winters anymore
Where in Minnesota are you? I lived just west of Minneapolis, on Lake Minnetonka. My brothers and dad are still back there.
Glad to have you on here. You will love this group! I don't have an RV yet, just a tent, but dreaming of the day...someday I will have my very own RV!
We love pictures, so if you can figure out how to post them, we'd love to see what your trailer and your dog look like!

Hi again Rita,
I just discovered you had made another into post in the middle of someone else's into post - just moved it to join the one here. It got lost in there - then I missed your 2nd one for too long - but you are certainly here now!

Beth, that happened to me, too, last week and I know for a fact I posted in the correct thread. I think Sparkle is still messing with us.

Welcome Rita,
I hear you about the long boring winters. I'm in northern Michigan and getting to the point where winters are a bit too long here too. Might head south to FL next year.
Sounds like you are enjoying life on the farm though and restoring your trailer. By next fall you will be looking forward to hitting the road and seeing some of the country on your way to AZ. Where are you planning to stay in AZ? There are some folks on this site down that way.
Hope you can figure out Photobucket and post some Before and After pics of your Shasta. Been fun to see what you are doing.
