A big Howdy from Colorado

A fellow Iggy lover (mom Ava, Gracie and Pixie ) invited me to this forum :) I have become a very independent gal these days....After my husband told me I really do still love you Lisa (My name is Lori) It devastated me. He went to Iraq and I held down our ranch with livestock and still cared for my stepson (15yrs old) whom I love dearly and tried to work though my hurt, anger and disappointment.

My husband came back after being gone 15 month in Iraq......15 month that I was alone.....with my hurt. I became VERY withdrawn and than one day something changed and I said enough is enough!! During a short time he was home a few weeks ago we decided to work on our relationship (none of this three strikes your out) He went back to Afghanistan this time for another year. I don't know if we will save this marriage, BUT i do know I will not wait on him any more for my happiness. Thus the best part.....

All my life I have loved camping and the positive impact it made in my life (something I have not done in years) so a few days after he left. I went out and bought me a 30.5 foot 5th wheel with slide  I pick it up the end of next week. I just had my hitch installed (but i think they messed up my wiring on my duelly my (L) blinker & brake light does not work anymore). I have not a clue what I am doing other than I have horses so i know how to pull a bumper pull. No doubt i will drive down the road feeling i am pulling what seems to be the length of a semi...lol

I sooooo Look forward to making new friend and maybe some day meeting :) I am 48 and adore my two IG boys Maverick and Simon (They have been there through the good and bad) I love them soooooo.....Who need men when you have your dogs....lol

Sorry for such a long post

Welcome Lori! Sorry you're going thru a rough time, but hey, what better way to be more independent and get your confidence growing than with your new 5er! You'll do great pulling it, parking it and especially enjoying wherever it takes you. And you're already friends with Ava, so that shows we aren't all bad!

Welcome, Lori!

Never apologize for saying too much - I think that's impossible here. More often we're gently (and not so gently) goading people into telling/sharing/showing more.

So sorry for the aches you are feeling - but nothing better than this group of women to help you forget them. And how wonderful that you recognized what you needed and that it isn't someone else who brings us happiness in our lives - it's up to us to bring it in ourselves. Whatever happens with you and your dh - you'll survive and you'll find your own happiness.

Hope to meet you on the road one day soon.

Welcome, welcome. You will find a group of very supportive women here - thru good and bad, we're behind you 100%. Glad you realized you need to depend on YOU for your happiness then if he fits into your life, okay. If not, okay too.

Love your furbabies - they are a lot of company, aren't they. I wouldn't part with my three for any man in the world.

Any chance of you making it to the September GTG in Arkansas?

OH, byw, have them make sure ALL the fuses are installed. A camper here just bought a new truck with a tow package BUT they didn't install the fuse need to run it all.

Hi Lori,

You go girl!

Welcome to the forum. Congratulations on your new RV.

I know those feelings. My divorced was final in April 2010. We separated June 2009 and I bought my truck and 5th wheel mid december 2009. I had always loved camping and the outdoors. It seemed like a logical thing for me to do.
