Hello all,

My name is Jo and I am from the little town of Mineola in East Texas. I am a member of RVing Women, Ramblin Roses and a good friend sent me your website. I am always interested in anything that pertains to rv camping and especially if it pertains to women traveling alone. I have just started solo traveling and hope to learn from reading info from this forum. I have a 2005 Fleetwood 28' 5th wheel and 2005 3/4 ton dodge hemi. I've been a camper since the 70's and always had a partner to travel with, but now solo travel will be a new chapter for me.

Hi Jo! Glad you joined us, along with your other groups you will have lots of support and women to meet along the way! I know where Mineola is, when I lived in Victoria TX, I worked for a family that was originally from around that area, their last name was Puckett. I live in SW Louisiana.

Welcome to the forum. Think you will find it a useful place to hang out.
Do post a picture of you rig.
Do you travel with a pet? Most of the ladies here do have a fur baby companion.
Check out the get together thread. There is one coming up in TX around first of April. Might give you an opportunity to meet some of the members face to face. I highly recommend trying to make as many gtgs as you can.

I do not have a furbaby (dog). May be awhile before I replace her. Never responded on any kind of forum, but read them all the time. The name rv4me2 has never been used on any forum by me. Just made it up when I joined. How do I get to threat "get togethers"?

Jo, on the main "Board Index" page you can scroll down a little ways and see "Get Togethers", click on that and it will show the different threads for different GTG (get togethers). To start you off, though, just click here viewforum.php?f=9

Welcome, so glad you found us, not that we were lost or anything, although I'd
love to get the chance to get out there and get myself "lost" and I'd much prefer Texas
to start with. I could get lost alot in that big state. A gtg would be fun and I'm like you,
I'd be doin it solo, except I do have my furbabies to keep me company.
Our forum has much to offer, the morning coffee, the campfire and we even have a
place to share crafts and projects, and I don't want to forget the recipe section as
well. Don't be shy, just jump in whenever and where ever you feel like it.

Hi Jo,

I'm a member of the Ramblin Roses too. Did you go to the rally where we toured downtown Ft Worth? It seems like I met someone named Jo at that rally. I live in South Louisiana. I haven't been able to attend the last few rallies because of things going on with my family and it doesn't look like I will be able to make the one in March either.

Welcome to the forum. I think there are a couple of other forum members from East Texas.

Hi Jo!

Welcome! I'm so glad you joined us. I always loved 5th wheel campers. I owned three during my first married years. And shared another 5th wheel during my 2nd marriage. Now as a single gal I'm enjoying a smaller rig. Looking forward to seeing the pics of your 5th. I always like how the 5th towed. Check out the Maintenance/Tech thread to see how we post pictures here. The preferred way is to use a program such as Photobucket, rather than to put them on as attachments.

Don't be shy, a great group here I think you will enjoy our "sisterhood".... :D Jump in wherever you feel comfortable. :D

Welcome Jo from central FL. I'll be traveling solo to the TX gtg (get together). Well, not exactly solo as I'll have my dog and cat with me. Someimes I travel with my sister-in-law or a friend, but other times solo. Looking forward to hearing about your past or planned for rving adventures.

Welcome jo. My home base is Kerrville Texas and Sprinter (also a member of RVwomen) is also in Kerrville. Would love to have you join us at the Port Lavaca get together. So far, there are five of us who are going to be there. We're going to boondock right on the beach. If that's not your thing, there is a small RV park right behind the beach. oceanside rv park in port Lavaca. I'm arriving on April 1st. not sure when the rest are arriving. We haven't quite got the details ironed out yet.
