I look forward to the day when I will be ONE of you myself. RIght now I am up to my eyeballs taking care of my parents and I'm hoping to live vicariously thru you all until I can be truly one of you w/ my own RV and my map and dog and gassed up and ready to hit the road and look back only when I wanna! :D Now i'm off to read your posts.

thanks for writing! I look f'ward to hearing all the advice and wisdom that I can!

fondly and excitedly,,

Wow! I get to be the first to say hello and welcome!

This is a great group of women. I'm sure you'll enjoy getting to know everyone and watching their antics. Don't worry about not having an RV yet. There's a time for everything and when it's right for you we'll be here to cheer you on.

Thanks for joining us!

Welcome Janet! I see you're from Brady TX also known as "The Heart of Texas", I lived in Victoria TX for 17 years but had to come home to Louisiana, just couldn't stay away. :D I think you will enjoy being here with this great group of women, you'll learn from us and share your experiences and questions, too. It's okay that you don't have a rv yet, you have the desire and interest and that's a good place to start! Make sure you join in the discussions and learn to post pics, join in the morning coffee and the evening campfire and everywhere in between because the more you put in the more you'll get out, but that's just my opinion, LOL. Welcome again, enjoy!

Welcome Janet! Enjoy our forum, great group of women here with some good advice and lots of shenanigans! Sometimes it may look like we're at each other's throats, but don't you believe it! We just like to have a good time and let off a little steam. Lot's of teasing, just like sisters in any other family.

I'm so glad you found us and joined. Don't fret about not having an RV yet,... thinking ahead and researching all the styles and finally shopping around is great fun. It's all part of chasing the dream. Check out how to post pictures in the Maintenance and Tech page,... and start sharing. We love pics here,.... and jump in anywhere you feel comfortable!

WELCOME, JANET!!

You have joined a super group of zany RVing women who will keep you laughing, and sometimes crying, and always informed of anything you ever wanted to know about RVing!

Hope to see some pics of you, soon, and meet on the road somewhere after you become mobile, and after I do, too! I have a trailer, but am still working full time at this point.

Have fun reading all the messages!

Hey, Janet!
Glad you found us. Great group of ladies, for sure! I have been posting here for well over a year and have just now gotten my RV and I feel they got me well prepared beforehand. Lots of years of firsthand knowledge among these women. No question is too stupid. I should know! ;)
Welcome and hope you jump right in!

Welcome Janet. God bless you for taking care of your parents. When your time comes to start RVing you will have learned a whole lot (hopefully) from this great group of women. Looking for your RV is part of the fun. Go actually look whenever you have a chance and start your LIST, what you want, what you don't want. I live in Kerrville Texas when I'm not on the road. You're pretty close to me, maybe I should pop up for a weekend. Anything to sightsee around Brady? I'm just finishing workampiing iin Silver City New Mexico the 27th and won't be home to Kerrville untill 10/6.

I am SOOO SOO SOOO thrilled to read all the welcome notes from you sweet ladies and thank you SO much for your kind and encouraging words! Yes, I am in Brady, ,actually out @ Brady Lake, living w/ my parents for now,, and I welcome anyone to come and visit. We have a super cg about 1 mile from the house w/ full hookups and it's cheap, I understand. Please come anytime! Just let me know! . Feel free to give me a call and yak. I am anxious to learn about rv'ing alone. I gotta tell ya'll that I have owned an rv about 20 yrs ago w/ my then husband and my 2 kids who are grown now, so im not TOTALLY green. But! My hub was an expert @ all things mechanical so I was totally clueless to the workings... except for what I picked up. Yeah, I might could diagnose, but as to actually fixing,, well, ha! You know that answer! Then, 2 yrs ago, I was in a 5th wheel w/ a then BF and we travelled around a bit in tx b4 heading to alaska and that was a 6 wk trip back, so I learned a lot then too,,, but we didn't always agree on how to do things.. ha! Ya spose that was why there was never a MARRIAGE? Live and learn! But I am still happy and excited, although I have NO idea how long I will be here w/ my parents.. so,, thank you for letting me live vicariously thru you all until my happy day!

Also,,, please tell me,, a ball park figure of what it costs to be on the road full time. I know there are loads of variances, according to how close to the bone one wants to live,, but,, im trying to get all my ducks in a row, ahead of time w/ the least amt. of surprises.

love to you all and happy trails!

Janet :!:

Welcome Janet, and keep the dream alive, although I have my rv, a fifth wheel, I
don't have a truck and I'm still working so I dream of the day myself when I can
hit the road. I figure its a couple years away, at least after the rv and car are paid
for, then I can stash some $$ away. I've decided on a small mh when it comes to
that point in time. But these ladies are the bestest!!
Don't be afraid to posts pics even of your "neighborhood", we all like to see other
parts of the country. :D

Welcome aboard. Read , share, learn and teach us a few things too! Try Tioga George's Blog or RV Dreamer's or I even think Margie from (Miss B'Haven fame) give some budgets. You always have to read them with a thought to how your own situation is different than theirs but it all gives you information to think about..... ...If we are really nice maybe Mitch can come through and put in the links so you can go directly to their sites....,.At the moment, I suppose to be resting up for the evening potluck and campfire here at the PA GTG....These things can wear a woman out! Patience with the parent care thing. I bought my first MH on 05 right before I retired so that I would not accidently forget and continue teaching a few more years! But parent health issues have kept me close to Ohio and/or limited the distance and amount of traveling a could do. Sometimes I wondered how bright I was to be paying on a MH just to watch it outside in the driveway....but having it sit there always reminded my of my dreams and where I have wanted to go.....so I wouldn't just say "oh, well...it really wasn't all that important..." ....SO I made it to PA at least thanks to these women!

Welcome aboard. I know where you are coming from. I have kinda adopted my neighbor who just turned 98 and have put off selling my place and hitting the road until sometime in the future.

Hi Janet - and welcome

A little suggestion - anyone can read the board, so you might not want your phone number visible to the world? I let anyone have my email address - but that's up to you.

I have spent a lot of time in TX since I started rving. A great state. Glad to have you with us - and even without an rv, hope you can meet some of us when in TX.

Janet, like Beth suggested, if you would like to remove your phone number, go to that post and click on edit, remove the number, you could always put in "PM me for number" or something like that.
Since Mitch is out of internet reach right now, I will post some of the blog addresses that Tina suggested for you to see their budget info:
