Hello from a New-Oldie

Come on in and say hello.

Hello from a New-Oldie

Postby Brewsterivy » Sun Sep 13, 2009 5:29 pm

Hi, My name is Carol and I come from lower New York State. I think I joined this group when it first started but I did not participate and lost touch along the way. I am active in another group and know some of the folks from there (Cedar, Nasoosie, and some others) and they speak very highly of this forum and its members.

I am retired from the legal profession where I was a paralegal for years. I now am a part time dog groomer and love it. Definitely an animal-lover, I currently have 2 dogs and a cat and am looking for another rescue dog to find me... ;)

My trailer is a small 13' Scamp, brand new, and fun to pull. My grandchildren love to play in it and think of it as their playhouse on wheels. I am just getting started with this new camping life so I have a lot to learn. Thank goodness there are helpful people out there!

I look forward to meeting some of you along the way.

Carol

Hi Carol! Welcome to our forum, I'm making a guess that if you're from NY and you know Cedar and Soos, you were probably at the Ruckus in the Mountains too. I'm glad you decided to join in here with us, I hope you won't regret it, LOL. We can get crazy, but we are true women of the world, I'm betting anything one of us has gone through so has another, so we welcome anybody and everybody to join in and give us your input too!

Glad you're here, Carol. Looking forward to posts and pics. But what's with all these "Carol"s on this forum-why weren't our mothers a little more creative???? Do any of us at least have an "e" on the end of our name? another carol(d)

Welcome aboard and welcome back......I really like the size of the Scamps and the Casitas...so much to offer and can still be pulled by most anything.... Read, post, laugh, cry, whine, vent, and dream with the rest of us..... life is short and meant to be explored.........

Hello Carol from another Carol. Whats your middle name? Ann? Jean? I was born in Jamestown New York many long years ago. My Mom mentioned once she liked Carol Lombard......I remember a lot of girls in my elementary classes were named Carol.
Welcome to the group I'm sure you'll enjoy being here. If you ever get to south central Indiana give us a holler -

Thank you all for your warm welcome. Yes, there were a lot of Carols when I was growing up, and I too was named after Carol Lombard. I can sign my notes as "Carol-Ivy." The name of my street is Ivy Hill so that will help distinguish all of us Carols a little! I look forward to meeting some of you on various outings and camping over the years.

Welcome Carol, from the other Carol that was at the Ruskus at Soos'. Sure glad to see you here, this is a really fun place, but very informative too. The "spew alert " warning, should be taken seriously, I have taken to not having my morning coffee in here  Haven't been here to much, since getting home, but hope too soon.
So enjoy yourself, and I am sure you will. Severeal threads to add your two cents to, never boring here, Mitch and Vickyp , have been seeing to that here lately. Talk about spew alert, always beware when reading their threads!!!

Hello Carol, I haven't met many people from DOWNSTATE New York. My DDH was from the Finger Lakes area. Someone asked him where he was from. He replied, Upstate New York. The guy thoughtfully said, Upstate New York must be a big city. I've met a lot of people from there.
Welcome to our happy group.

Good story, Sparkle. People usually say "upstate" and mean Westchester County,.... haha..... for those not familiar with NY,... that's the county immediatly north of the city. Otherwise,... NYC suburbs. Most people don't even acknowledge that there might be life above Albany!  Goodness knows where they think Buffalo is!
