Hi, this is Skylark. I almost bought a motorhome a couple of years ago but was talked out of it. I've done nothing but think about it ever since. Having never even taken a weekend trip in an RV, I suppose some would say I'm crazy. Guess I'm just ready to jump in & get started. I have a lot to learn before I take off on my own. I'm learning all I can about rving. Want to be a fulltimer. I can use all the advise I can get. I'm glad to be a part of this forum.

Welcome Skylark!
I'm glad you joined us! Thanks for jumping in and posting your introduction. You are now in the campfire circle ..
So many times we (all of us at one time or another...) let someone talk us into our out of what our heart wants. It's not too late. Start looking around and going to dealers and rv shows. Soon you will find one that feels right for you. Perhaps renting one for a few days might help too. Also think about how you want to use it,... a lot of traveling, or more staying in one place in it. The shopping is a lot of fun!
Welcome aboard!

WELCOME, SKYLARK!!
You have come to the right place to discover how to RV, what to RV in, and how to make the house-on-wheels your own by clever decorating that so many of these women are so good at. I currently have a small travel trailer, which I can comfortably live in and still have my truck to drive around when I get some place, but my problem is that hauling that trailer is scary for me. Going through cities, for instance, and the fear of getting stuck on a dead end road somewhere, or in a place I can't turn around really makes me hesitant to use the trailer as much as I would like to be able to. (I can't back up worth a dang!)
So----although I have an RV right now, I, too, am looking for something I can trade for that I will feel more confident driving around. As Cedar has said, shopping is a really fun part of it all! Looking online and at RV shows is really good experience, and the more you look and consider, the more you will seem to zero in on something you really like.
Hope to hear from you often, and when you learn how to post pictures from Photobucket, or some such online photo program, it will be fun to see you! You will see how neat this group is when you begin to read all the messages posted on here every day!

Welcome, so glad you found us and jumped in with an introduction. Don't be
afraid or embarrassed to ask questions. We are a very friendly bunch and
quite nosy at times. We love pictures too. I live in my fifth wheel fulltime
with 3 little dogs although I don't go anywhere yet, it will eventually happen.

..Good Morning, Skylark - and WELCOME! You've come across a very unique bunch of women, that's for sure. I hope you'll enjoy the gang.
How about a little more about you - where ya hail from? Fur-babies? A better half of some sort?
We look forward to learning more about you.
And HAPPY FRIDAY!

Skylark. I live in Maryland. If you are in my area I would be happy to meet and give you Rving -101. I had never driven an rv or even rode in one but flew to Florida, bought a rv and drove it home. I never said I was smart. I spent the year before lurking on rv.net and went to Life on Wheels (no longer exists). Sadly rv dealers paid little attention to me I guess because of the gray hair and wrinkles but pooh on them. I attended gtgs and stayed in nearby motels before I had a rv. Campgrounds have cabins to rent. Rvers love to talk about rving.

Welcome Skylark. The ladies here go all the way from fulltimers to weekend travelers to ladies like you are are just starting to look. I fulltime in a 30' Class C with two labs and tow a Saturn. I like the C because if you drive the front end the back end follows along and its big enough for me. I didn't want to have to get something big (like a big truck) to pull either a 5th wheel or a trailer. I also like that if I pull over somewhere and I'm not comfortable I can just get in the cab and drive off without going outside. Where are you? Is there an RV dealer near you? If yes, go look. Tell the salesman to leave you alone to look. Sit in them, pretend you're fixing dinner, get in the shower, pretend to watch TV (many of them are awkwardly placed), lay on the bed. I chose gasoline over diesel - more available gas stations on the back roads I like to travel. I bought my used - no huge depreciation when you drive it off the lot and hopefully the bugs, if any, have been worked out. If you decide to tow a car that's a whole other story - not all cars can be towed wheels down.
Have I totally confused you. No question is too dumb for this forum. We all started somewhere.

Welcome Skylark, Glad you joined us. My friends and family thought I was crazy to get a RV also, but certainly changed their minds when they saw how much fun I am having. Keep looking for your RV, it will show up. Make a list of how you plan on using the RV and what you want in it, then revise the list. (We are women and allowed to change out minds.) The more RVs you look at the more you will know what you actually want. Good luck in the search, it is a fun part. Linda
