Hi All! My name is Kim and I am new to the forums here and to RVing. We will be taking delivery of our new Jayco next week. I'm having lots of fun looking for accessories and stuff we'll need.
I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions - glad to have found this forum. :-)

Welcome to the forum! Buying stuff for a new RV is great fun--sort of like playing house! So have fun and ask lots of questions if you have them.

Welcome to the forum from Ohio...though currently still visiting Washington State. You never know where one of us may show up. Remember that you can find most of what you need from Walmart and Target, etc. And their prices are less than the RV stores. Have fun.

Welcome, Kim! So much fun finding and outfitting a camper! Don't overlook Thrift stores-I've gotten lots of useful items from storage tubs to shelving and even small appliances and cookware.

Thank you for the warm welcome. :)

avalen - I'm in Oregon, near Portland. I'll be on the map woohoo!

BirdbyBird - I know I couldn't believe the RV store prices. It's like they slap the RV label on it and raise the price by 50% LOL. Fortunately my work helps me in this - I'm a hot deals editor for an online shopping website and I'm happy to have an excuse to shop more now! Right now my challenge is finding a stove cover at a reasonable price - that is proving tougher than I imagined. Usually I have no trouble finding a deal on something, but this... It's so specialized. We have the two-burner stove so it's not the size for the 'universal' ones. I guess I will wait until the Flying Monkey Mobile gets here and measure to order a cutting board that works.

gingerK - Thrift stores, what a great idea!

Instead of a metal stove cover, why not use a wooden cutting board. The one I had rattled like crazy, so I got one of these:

Mine has a rubber backing that stays put on top of the burner covers. You might have to cut it down to size or maybe you can find one for a two-burner stove.

Welcome to the forum! Lots of helpful people and information here. Most of the things for my trailer were found at the Dollar Store, Walmart, etc. There are certain RV-specific things you will just need to pay the extra money. You can also check boat accessory retailers because some of the special things will work for boats too. I know I read somewhere that someone found a stove cover for the two-burner style. I'll see if I can find that for you.

I'm located in Salem, so maybe we can have a mini-gtg before the end of the season.
