No RV yet, but have started looking - my plan is to keep researching and reading, then get one next year. I am looking for a class C, I think that will fit my needs, also I don't want to tow a car. I am used to driving a lot and driving by myself, but want to see more and don't like always staying in hotels. I also like to get off the beaten path. Leaving on Thursday for a 3 week trip to the SE, wish it was going to be a little warmer! (on the other hand, any place south of here is warmer) Going down thru Nashville and taking the Natchez Trace Pkwy to Natchez. I am meeting up with a friend to see the sights, then over to NC to visit my Mom, to SC to visit friends and then home. Natchez new area for me and I am looking forward to exploring the area, plantations and all the history it has to offer.
I am semi retired, wish I was fully retired. My problem is that my work keeps me busy during the spring, summer and fall, with the winter months off. But planning on cutting back some next year.

Welcome to the forum. Enjoy your trip to the SE, too bad you couldn't be taking it in a RV, but you'll find just the right one for you.

Hoosier Welcome
I don't think there is a warm place in the US at this moment
But I guess some places are warmer than others.
Good luck with finding the right RV for you. We like shopping with other peoples money
Feel free to ask questions. With the diversity of this group someone probably owns something similar.

Hi gypsy from a south neighbor in Illinois. No RV yet here either, but learning so much from the ladies on this site. Where are you in WI? Chicago has an RV show in February, maybe you could join me on the hunt for wheels

Hi from the warm, sunny central coast of CA. We might even get some rain tomorrow??? Enjoy your search for just the right RV. I have a 2007 35' diesel pusher that doesn't get used as much as it should.

Howdy! Just took part of the Natchez Trace, on my way to TX. I'm a full time RVer/workamper and enjoyed the free campgrounds on the Trace. The road was good and pretty scenery. Not much traffic when I was on it during Christmas time. Make sure to stop at the visitor's center and watch the film they have. Great history info. Have fun and good luck with the RV search!

welcome Gypsy, is that what you'd like us to call you? I'm still working too but I'm off during the summers so my get away is sort of flip flopped of yours. I also don't have my rv yet but do have a fifthwheel which stays placed as I don't have a truck to haul it. Its been in
storage and very soon is coming out to get set up for remodel and then the plan is to trade it in for a class c or sell it outright. Either
way, this group of ladies is the best cheer squad ever! We love shopping for rv's
especially when we're spending someone elses
money
(virtually, of course
) You also don't have to have an rv to join in a get together, I've done many day trips with some
of the ladies as they have passed through town. Hope to meet you down the road someday.

Hi everyone, thanks for all the welcome notes. I will definitely stop at the visitor center on the trace, also want to stop at some of the small towns along the way, as well as the historical landmarks, I am a big history buff. Just hope all the snow and ice has melted by the time I get there! As for RV shows, I was thinking of hitting the Milwaukee show end of Feb. when is the Chicago show?
Want to check out the class C RV's although I am going to buy used when I am ready.
My name is Rosemary, but feel free to use Rose.

Rosemary - the Chicago RV show is in February also. I posted something on the Get Togethers tread:
http://www.womenrv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=12090hmmm - Milwaukee - I'll have to look that one up. It's close enough that I can get there in a couple of hours.

Welcome, Rose. I started this journey from Wisconsin. Drove my RV for the first time out of wi when it was snowing. Found mine in southern Illinois back then.
I love driving the Trace.

I would have loved to go to the MPLS RV show, but I am leaving in the a.m. for my trip. My daughter and her family live in Chaska, so I get over there a lot.
Beth thanks for the note, I checked out your blog and it looks like you have a class C - let me know how you like it, what are the pros & cons. I will be traveling by myself most of the time and I am not planning on towing a car. I enjoy all the photos and trip information from everyone in the various posts.

I live just north of Chaska, in Spring Park. Maybe we can meet up sometime when you are in the area.
Good luck on your search and have a good trip!
