I'm Kristi
I was a young lady growing older (in )working with the casinos money, in Las Vegas. The people never stopped coming!! Very stressful, and I tried changing up my reality, by changing my shifts, my days off of the week, one casino for another... unhappiness followed. But the bills got paid--at what expense-my life!!
It was truly a treadmill-at a speed that i was steadily falling behind on. I had to cut down somehow, some way, so I lowered my expectations and hopefully their expectations of me... but its the same in all of them. It was a "Live to die another day" scenario no matter that I always gave 110% of myself.
Then one night, I met a customer- yes-one of THEM . He was so odd, and cute in a mysteriously mischievious way..(.it was like he was breaking the rules of conduct....and i was always paying attention ) . a couple months later we went out to listen to some Blues music..then a hike, then the B.B.King concert at stateline where i strangely broke my own foot... he was a Knight in shining armor when it came time for surgery and I "fell" for him after that.
Thats my story leading up to the many trips to National Parks together and then the time apart due to his work, (Union Welder-traveler).
One day he came back, and I married him, and we bought a travel trailer and drove off together,it was Springtime in another part of the country-that was a wonderful idea in 2008.
We upgraded to a 5th wheel later that year for the headroom and got a nice price on it.(I put a dishwasher in it.) I have been to Wa., Idaho, Ca.,Ky., Tn.,Indiana, always back to Las Vegas to visit my Mom, and we are now on the Az./Ca. border..on the Colorado river, I hope for the winter...I hear the desert fills up with RVers from Ca., to Texas... That must be a sight ! We are extending our RVing thru the working years and probably (i say) settle down afterwards. Steve is working most the time, but I am so happy with my solitude and birdsong, everyday is enjoyable now. Thats my story,; I want to hear yours---online, over coffee !! ;-) I'm Kristi

Welcome, Kristi and very nice to meet you and hear your story. So glad you got out of the rat race. I did similar, but without a knight - broke into it all on my own. Either way, we both did good for ourselves.

Hope to meet you on the road. Maybe sometimes this winter. I'm further north in California now, but will be heading through your territory later as I go down to Baja.

Lots will be in/around Quartzsite during the winter - should you want to meet up with any of them. Most years a gtg there is planned for a period during the winter.

Hoosier Welcome :D

It's amazing how often we get strapped into work just to "die another day". Glad you were able to step back and live, instead of survive.
