Hello

Come on in and say hello.

Hello

Postby LisaH » Sat Oct 12, 2013 2:03 pm

I'm a newbee. I retired from selling Real Estate in 2010 and found that I was sitting around way too much. So, after a trial run of renting a RV for a week and meeting friends camping at Pinecrest in Central California, I decided to go for it and buy a used RV. So far, I've only "camped" in my friends driveway for 4 days while they cooked and entertained me! That was pretty sweet. My next adventure is going to be Bodega Bay for Thanksgiving with the same friends.
I have a small fur baby, Cookie, who does really well traveling. I joined because I would enjoy meeting other women who like to explore the Northern California area (mountains, Tahoe, beach).
I live in Lodi, CA where I am a Volunteer for the Police Dept (Partners). It's fun, and gets me off my butt and outside. I am also interested in fishing and photography, so if anyone knows how to fish, that would be great!! I'd like to learn to fly fish! I'm somewhat limited in heavy duty hiking, skiing, etc., due to a problem with my back, but I can do most things if I take it easy.
That's my story. Are there going to be any meet-up activities this winter in my area?

Welcome!

I am a newbie myself, living near the state capitol of Sacramento.

There seem to be several newbies in the northern California area - hopefully we can have a mini-GTG soon!

Welcome from SoCal! I usually don't make it north very far but maybe we could meet in the middle somewhere....And of course there's Arizona... :D

Welcome to the forum..... Check out the gtg threads and the member map is voluntary but it will give you an idea of who starts out on which side of the Mississippi. :)

Hope we can encourage you to put a few more miles on your rig and collect more memories and adventures.

Welcome to the forum. I live in Dublin and love going around California - there's so much to see. I was at Pinecrest just before the Rim fire took over. Got pretty smokey in the afternoons, but was beautiful in the moning. We're getting more and more members in California so maybe we can organize a GTG (get together) here in the state sometime soon. I was at Bodega Bay at the end of July with another forum member. Also went to South Lake Tahoe. Looks like we like similar places. Hope to meet you sometime on the road.

Hi Lisa
Pinecrest is one of my favorite places! I was there this summer as well. I also love bodega and places further up the coast. Now I'm sure I have found my kindred spirits!

Wow, cool~ I hope those of us who are in the area can start planning a trip. I'm a novice at the whole rv'ing thing, but I am a fast learner. I can build a campfire, and roast a marshmallow. LOL My first experience with renting was great except for packing a rented rv and then unpacking in a rush to get it turned back in. It nearly killed me! Now, I can just move in some food and a suitcase and hit the road.
Pinecrest was beautiful. We were there in May. It was warm during the day and cool at night. Perfect. I have been to Bodega but stayed in a rented house on the golf course. I'm just hoping we don't get rained out in November (Thanksgiving).
My schedule is very flexible. My life is pretty much on auto-pilot and I can be spontaneous. So, feel free to recommend a trip!
How does the IMG button work?? I wanted to download some picks of the RV and Me and Cookie, but couldn't figure it out. HELP!
Thanks,
Lisa

Lisa, once you copy the IMG code from Photobucket or whatever site you're using, then come back here and paste it into your post. You will then see the code is your post. When you preview or submit, the pic will appear.
