Oh boy a womens group

Hi Everyone, I’m Evelyn in Nor. Cal.
I’m 63 years old and when I was married we always had a truck and camper and took family vacations every year. But as my daughter got older and the marriage started to fall apart the truck and camper got sold and I forgot all about how much I loved traveling around seeing new things and learning about new places.
Fast forward a few years and now I my mom and I live together and a few years ago we started taking vacations once a year, staying in motels sleeping on yucky motel beds. Last year when we got home I said “that’s it, this is the last year we’re staying in motels, we are getting an RV”. Mom said “yipee”. So next week we are renting a 30' class c’ and heading to Albuquerque. If this works out I will buy one and away we will go. We travel very well together but she is 86 years old and I don’t know how many more years she will be able to do this, but as long as she is able we will travel. When she is gone I plan to become a full timer. I’m so glad to have found this group.
Thank you to the lady who mentioned this web site to me, when I commented on another blog. Thank you for accepting me into the ‘fold’. Evelyn

Welcome, Evelyn! Glad to have you with us.

I wish I could have shared this life with my Mom. I hope the two of you have a long time to enjoy it. And then you have full-timing to look forward to after.

If you get any where near Tracy in the next couple months, give me a holler. I'm here working till about Christmas when I can then have fun, too.

Wow Evelyn...That is so cool that you love traveling with your mom who is up in her years. It just goes to show that age is not a deterrent for enjoying life to its fullest. I was the sole caregiver for my mom until she left me at 97 years old. I miss her so much and wish that I had gotten into RVing while she was still with me. She would have loved it.

A big Texas welcome to you. I think its wonderful your mom can travel with you. I wish mine could have come with me, she would have enjoyed it so much. When you're in Albuquerque stop by Vantastic Vans and check out their Class B's and C's. I bought my Roadtrek there over the internet, sight unseen. I couldn't have been happier with them. I had a Class C and fulltimed for three years and now I take weekend or short trips in my van. I ended up getting a tow car so I could sightsee when I got somewhere.

Welcome Evelyn from SoCal! We have another "Evie", my good buddy Pooker. I'm sure she'll chime in soon. We're getting more and more ladies from Cali here...Someone must be spreading rumors about us.....

Welcome from the Midwest! My mom would have loved traveling in an RV too. We took lots of road trips together and she loved to travel! I am still waiting to get my first RV...

Welcome to the forum.....So glad that you were able to find your dreams again and follow them. Keep us in the loop, we all consider the hunt for the RV as part of the journey. Besides it is easier to spend the money of others and live vicariously.

Hoosier welcome :D

Years ago my Mom rode with me for 3 days in my semi. Learned a lot about my Mom childhood in those 3 days. Something about a road trip promotes the conversation.
