I am glad to finally get in. Registered then could not get in for a week, but here I am . Yay.
I live in Northern CA (Roseville, near Sacramento) with hubby and disabled son, 2 cats and a bird. We traveled some in our 76 GMC 4905 Bus conversion, until husbands health took a sideways turn. We also have a Leisure Travel Free Spirit, 2005. Funny story to that one is, husband tried for years to get me to buy a Mercedes. I kept balking as I just did not like them. Then I saw the Sprinter! It was love at first sight. I bought it without having driven one, from a Tx dealer and we actually drove to the factory in spring of 05 to pick her up. I love that van. We do weekends in it , though not much recently. I did spend a week in the van at the Kiwanis House behind UC Davis Hospital in June/July, while husband had 12 hours of surgery to remove a tumor on his palate and recover. Since then at home, caring for him as he goes through radiation. Tomorrow is the last day of that ! Yay. Now to start true recovery so we can take weekends away and plan our next big trip.
I am a lifelong camper, having spent my youth going to Girl Scout Camp and camping in tents in wonderful places such as Yosemite with my parents. Married a man who said, "I only camp if it's in a RV with a color tv, AC, and a comfortable bed". So I finally got us into the RV's and he camps. LOL
I can't really take off on my own, as he is a diabetic (insulin pump and all) and needs a helper, but hopefully I can meet some of you at some point in time.
My other hobbies include crochet, card making (rubber stamps), and of course my computer and digital camera.
Our two cats come with us in the larger RV and love to get out on their leashes and chase squirrels. The bird stays at the birdie resort (aka her fav avian vet).
Our son goes with us in the big RV, but it's just hubby and I in the van. Our next hoped for trip is to Okla to see his father and sister next fall (was supposed to be this fall, but life had it's changes in mind).
Looking forward to getting to know the wonderful women here, although I feel like I have met some of you having read most of what has been written in the forum while waiting for approval. Happy Travels. -Velda PS, I just turned 65 and feel young at heart!
