New to group

Postby Momofsix » Wed Jul 10, 2013 8:02 pm

Hi, I am a married mother of 6 (5 children still at home). 6 yrs ago I saw life passing me by way too fast and decided to start traveling alone w my children(hubby is still working full time). We have since been to 44 states. This summer we plan to head out west again (CO, NV, and CA). It would be wonderful to meet up with someone from this group. What are everyone's plan for this summer? Does anyone know of anything fabulous to see out west?

Welcome to the forum......you can look on the members map and PM anyone who is near by the areas that you plan on passing through. Lots of us are using those wheel under us to move around so you never know until you ask who is where when. :) Have fun. It is hard to give recommendations for places to stay not knowing what sort of RV campgrounds support you interests. For some of us the COE, state parks and minimal National park campground with hiking and nature and water is enough. But if you want nice swimming pools and activities for a range of ages then well....something else might keep all the ages busy and happy. A long hike and a good book pretty much takes care of it for me....Though we all seem to appreciate our internet connections these days!

Welcome to the forum. I suggest reading the blogs of members who have them. You'll usually find the URLs in the signature block. That's how I find places, sights, activities that interest me in different areas of the country. Without knowing more about your situation, it's hard to make recommendations. Whatever it turns out you need, you'll find somebody here with knowledge to share. At least that's my experience.

Thanks for the advise and the warm welcome. On a whole, we need very little. I have a quote on my frig "a man is wealthy not according to what he has, but according to what he can do without". I think thats the subliminal message that I'm trying to teach my children. I also think that's what I enjoy most about being on the road for an extended amount of time, you come home and look at your "stuff" and think "why do I have a collection of those"? The best time to de-clutter your house is when you first come home. Thanks again, I'm trying to get my "affairs in order" (pre-paying bills and such, plotting a path, ect). P.S. As far as necessities sometimes I feel a glass of dry red wine ranks right up there with occasional electric/sewer and fresh water :)

The glass of wine is always #1 priority in my book...
I can always use my generator and wet wipes.
