What have we done??

Hello Ladies!
Newbie is a nice way to put it. Not much of a clue is appropriate too. I don't even know the proper lingo.
So, I came home one evening and my husband of almost 37 years announced that we were the proud owners of an RV. There are lots of details that I will spare you, but...we are still married and I am getting used to the idea. Ok, don't tell him, but I'm "all in" now. We have been out for a long weekend twice now and are headed out again this weekend. Our first 2 ventures have been cold, but I think we may luck out this time. I just want to sit outside in my chair under the awning. Oh, and fire up the grill!
I grew up camping, no, like really camping...tents, sleeping bags... That was awhile ago. My dad and step mom were fulltimers for about 10 years. They loved it and shared a lot of their experiences with us. That's the extent of my knowledge.
It's gonna be a learning experience. Here I come!!!

Welcome.. Not to be nosey but what kind of RV did he surprise you with? We too grew up tent camping, lean-to and a pop up tent camper. I'm so past that. I enjoy my portable house.... I think the best part is sitting around a camp fire after the little one has fallen asleep with a book, an adult beverage and a cigar (something I picked up in culinary school). While I enjoy my camp fire and the friends we meet, I look forward to A/C (or heat), a soft bed and a good nights sleep. Campers have come a long way in the last 30 years. Hope you enjoy your new RV even if you don't let DH know he did OK.
