New and Happy to be here

Hello Everyone!
I am so happy to have found this forum. I have been reading and searching for blogs but not found many where “womanly” RV things were addressed. Now I can ask those questions and not feel silly.
My DH and I have been dreaming about RV travel and the dream just kept getting bigger until now it is to become full-timers in 51/2 years when he/we retire. We’d like to take at least two years and travel the US to find the place we would like to land. I have a feeling two is going to work its way up to many more. There are so many wonderful places to see.
I live in Southern CA with my DH and a couple of animals. The cat and dog are getting old and when they have gone to the great beyond I think we will be downsizing a lot so we can begin the transition to the RV life. We would like to get a class A before we retire. Even that dream got bigger. The DH was thinking thirty some feet until he saw the Winnebago Tour recently at the Pomona RV show. He loved the slide out basement drawers so much that he upped the ante. I don’t think it will be a Tour, they seem too dark inside for me. We will see if we can even afford anything similar when the time comes.
I love how many of you are doing this on your own. In 2007 I met a woman at Lava Hot Springs who told me about how she and her friends all travelled around in their RVs. I think that might have been the beginning of me getting the bug.
I have been lurking and finding much good information. Also, the camaraderie and support here is great.
I must confess I am not good at remembering who is who and I am terrible with names. Please forgive me in advance.
So happy to be here,
Kathleen
