morning irene,

newbie from ky here again. just wanted to add my "atta-girl" to you for prioritizing your life, and taking care of your mom in her final season. so many people tend to develop amnesia when the time comes to give of themselves for their parents, who so selflessly gave of themselves for us for so many years. i know it's hard to see her getting weaker and not as sharp as she was. God bless you for your care. your dreams are still there, and some day they will become a reality again.

my mom is 85, and today we are taking her to get her first walker. she is the lady who could run circles around all of us at one time, flawlessly kept up her house, her children, her job. she took care of my father who suffered from MS and multiple other neurological disorders for the last 30 years of his life. this walker thing will be tough, but much needed as she has gotten so weak from her heart issues, that i fear she will fall and break her hip as her mother did. as long as my mom needs me, i will be here.

my husband and i are just starting our RV journey soon. it has been a dream of ours for a long time, and as we draw closer and closer to retirement, we are preparing. we must, however, be ever so cognizant of my mom's condition and only venture out a bit initially. she lives in a retirement community with my mentally challenged sister (frick and frack we call them ;) ). they sort of keep an eye on each other.

sorry to be so long-winded here, but i feel like i have found someone who can understand :) .
please keep us posted !

Thanks Ladies, sure appreciate you being there and knowing how I feel. I really love reading about all your adventures on the road. My husband and I got our RV for when he retired, we had big plans he was killed 8 months later, I had never drove it, one day I decided I was going to do it and I did..I love it. she is 31 foot long. Thanks to Fernie, Sharon, and precious little Jean, Sparkel, for all the encouragement,I will do it again some day.
