Hello Everyone!

Come on in and say hello.

Again I find myself saying "Thank you!" - what a warm and wonderful welcome! I have come to understand that I should expect nothing less of RVer's - whether FTers, PTers, or wannabees-like-me! But it is still so very nice when it happens. :D

I am in northwest Alabama, in the Shoals area, bluepinecones. Another nice lady (Cedar518) asked me that and I forgot to answer - I'm sorry! I was born in Vicenza, Italy, but was raised in a rural area in northwest Alabama. My children and I moved to The Shoals in 2001. We like it here - big enough to have most everything we need while not being TOO big (traffic ect), but I am SO ready to see our country... after my Mom followed my Daddy around in the Army, she put her foot down and we "stayed put" when I was growing up! I wanted to keep traveling, but didn't get a vote!! :( I am ready to make up for lost time now!!!

Sarah (bluepinecones) will know that area, as do I. I spent my first couple winters as an rver in Arab. Found the winters there to be much colder than I expected :) - But this year, am finding that about southern AZ - can't wait to get even further south!

Welcome Kerri. I can't add much more to what's already been said. I fulltime with my Tgm and no kids or furbabies. I'm staying the winter in Sarasota at a place called Sun n Fun and one of the workers wife works here while he homeschools. They live in a small 5th wheel and seem to be managing fine although it is a 2 parent home which makes a lot of difference. Good luck and you're doing the right thing by educating yourself on the pros of being an rv'er. carold

Can't express how envious I am of those who are already "livin' the life!"

Have fun, you all! ! ! ! ! !!

Welcome Kerri! When I was faced with getting rid of my "stuff" I divided it into, throw away, Goodwill, Yard sale, private sale, and I can't bear to part with this. When I got through the first round I started again. There wasn't any throw aways by then, but there were yard sale items, and the I can't bear to part with this, pile got smaller. When I was through I got a small storage unit and you know what went into that. I've had it for four years now and when I'm through with Alaska its all going to another storage unit in my sons town. I'll pay 6 months rent, give him the key and its his problem from then on. A lot of it is sentimental and family historical stuff from Scotland, ie World War 1, 2, and Vietnam medals from his Gt. Grandfather, Grandfather and Father. I found I didn't need any of it.
