Thanks from Minne'snow'ta

Come on in and say hello.

Thanks from Minne'snow'ta

Thank you all for such a warm welcome! I figured out how to post my photo for my avatar. Tomorrow I will post some photos of my animals on the pets board. I have so many questions I don't know where to begin! There is so much to learn. I am in awe of all of you for being so independent and smart. You are my heroes! Someday I hope to be on the road with you all. I will get my questions down on paper tomorrow and then post them in the appropriate boards. Meanwhile, I will sit here and dream of traveling to warm, sunny places, while I listen to the wind howling and watch the snow blowing outside (we are having a snow storm/blizzard right now!).

Barb (actually you can call me 'Barbie'. That is my fun, party girl name!)
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Glad you joined us Barbie, especially after reading our posts   You're at the beginning of the journey, so much fun and so much to learn. Enjoy, that's part of the adventure. Looking forward to posts and pics. Don't forget to look at the blogs that many of the forum sisters have. That will also give you info. And you're right Liz, if you need a website to get even more info, Mitch will take care of you. carold

I really appreciate your Quote....not sure that I have heard that one before...but I know that I usually look closely at individuals who say they "Don't like dogs and cats, etc." I try to figure out what other part of their spirit may be missing! ...that they don't "get" it.

And about the independent and smart stuff...aw shucks   ......wait till you find the "scared", "bewildered", "lost", "confused", "wandering minds", (okay "wondering minds...too), and the just plain "Duh" parts...... Many times I am reminded of the quote about reaching the cliff and deciding that you have no way out but to jump.....God gives you wings or catches you, sort of thing........ So, I am never sure how brave or independent I am... I just know that I have to take the journey.....if it means friends catching me, finding a hidden trail along the side of the cliff, tying balloons together or growing wings....I want to go beyond the edge of the cliff :D

I know you will grow to love these bunch of ladies as I have... and I am no where NEAR getting my butt on the road,,, but I do, in my dreams...and will continue to do so until such time as my duties w/ my parents are done and they are put to their final rest. Until that time, I remain their caregiver and live vicariously thru these wonderful, fun loving , crazy ladies and their great adventures,, great OR small! haha! sorry girls!

love ya'll....

Hi, Barbie, and welcome to a great forum - ditto what everyone else has said.
We'll look forward to getting to know you better.

How many ferrets do you have? (you're holding 2 if my old eyes are seeing correctly).

ON EDIT: Vickie just eloquently pointed out, in a PM, that I'm an idiot for asking that question...I just needed to read Barbie's signature.

Barbie, one thing to know about me. I have a mantra that has served me (un)well during my years of RV'ing.

"EVERYTHING OPERATES PROPERLY WHEN PROPERLY OPERATED."

The subtext of that is I invariably screw it up at least once.

And then of course there's always the mental slap upside of the head when you do something really stupid as you slowly look around to see if anyone has noticed that you just screwed up bigtime!! And then we run here to report what we did so Mitch can make fun of us!!!

As usual I'm late! Welcome Barbie. We love newcomers 'cause we get to tell all our stories again. And then when you get going you will have stories too. Also lots of people with experience of both Class B's and C's, to give you pointers. Oops, low battery, gotta run and put the genny on.

Another slightly late "WELCOME". Glad to have you join us.
I don't yet have an RV. Am learning a lot about them here. Only considering a Class B or small C size.

I'm a late welcome too - just read both posts - and to make it simple to keep all the welcome posts together - I'm going to merge the two. When replying, you can hit to "post a reply" and just continue the post. Of course, when you're starting a new subject, yep, you want to start a new post.

So glad to have you with us. I lived in MN for 3 years once. Spent most of my life in IL, WI, MN - with short forays into IA. Loved it up there, but made a vow when I started rving that from now on I VISIT snow :) I'm one of those who think it's absolutely gorgeous - and that winter is the most beautiful of all seasons - however I hate being cold. If I could figure out a way to live in someplace like a ski resort, where I never had to go outside all winter, I might just spend another winter up north - even Alaska. However, I've never been able to work that out. Was pretty close in my last couple jobs - lived where I worked - but still had to deal with business meetings/breakfasts, going to the store, etc etc -

LOL, am I complaining - NOT - just musing. So, enjoy the beauty around you and dream of joining me on the road. It's a great dream. I took mine to reality long before I thought I could afford it - but I'm good at living on a shoestring budget to live my dream.
