Hello from newbie

Come on in and say hello.

Hello from newbie

Postby codasmom » Thu Jun 28, 2012 2:44 pm

Hi, my name is Shirley. I am still trying to find my first camper, but I'm already on this website because I KNOW it will happen.
I am a woman in my early 60's, widowed for 10 years but living life every minute....every minute that I'm not at work, anyway.
Perhaps you can help me fulfill this dream. I have decided to look for one of the fiberglass trailers; Casita, Scamp, Burro, Egg....up to 17'.
Of course, I'm open to suggestions from those of you who are more experienced at this than I.
I'm fairly capable in the repair....re-cover department, but I want to spend my spare time camping not completely restoring.
I live in Colorado and would need to find something within one day's drive from home so I could get there and back in a weekend.
I look forward to learning a lot from all of you and perhaps meeting some of you on the road.

Very best regards and thanks for your help.

Welcome, Shirley. Glad to have you with us. As to asking our opinions - you know that adage "Be careful what you ask for?" haha - kidding, but yes, we have opinions galore and will be willing to share. Just remember - much of what we say are our personal choices, doesn't mean our choices will work for you. So listen to everything, then weigh what's right and not for you - then go for it.

Welcome Shirley, I can't offer much advice on the campers you mentioned having never had one but they certainly are cute. I personally must have more room but a few years ago this might have worked for me. I would say if you are the type to get up and out the door for each new day's adventure then this will certainly work. Good luck and Happy Shopping.. Keep us posted, we love to share stories.

Welcome to the forum. Check out the "RIGS" thread on the forum. Might give you some ideas. The ladies here "helped" several of our group find their rigs. Where in Colorado are you? Hope not near the fires. Feel free to ask anything here.

Welcome from Texas! I have a small trailer (16') although it's not one of the eggs. For me solo, it's great. When I have anyone else with me - including the dogs - I wonder where the heck did all the space go!

Feel free to ask questions. And we always love pictures.

Welcome, welcome, welcome!
I'm from Colorado, spent all my adult life around Denver metro, and I LOVE Colorado. However, I got transplanted to Arizona
some years ago and just can't get out until I retire. Used to have one of those little egg trailers myself but now I have a 5th
wheel and when I retire, I'm getting a class C. We love to go rv shopping with you, of course its virtual but yes we do have
opinions and ideas to help you choose. Don't be afraid to post, join us for idle chit chat around the campfire or morning coffee.
We talk about anything and everything, of course, we're women, thats what we do. Keep the dream alive. :D We also like
pictures, pets and food.

Another welcome from Texas! Shirley, if you are looking for an " egg", there are a couple of sites that would good for you to check out. One is "Fiberglass RV Forum" and the other "Fiberglass RVs for Sale". Sorry I don't know how to post links.
Good luck in your search!

Hi Shirley! Welcome from another Texas lady. I don't know anything about the TT's you are looking at, but there will be ladies here who can help you.

Be sure and jump right in on any conversation. Love all points of view! We love pics too!

Welcome, Shirley, glad to have you with us. Are you looking to buy new or used? What will you pull it with? I have a 16' tt and two big dogs and we manage to have a good time whenever we go somewhere.

Shirley - That's so exciting! I spent a bunch of time looking at the photos and floorplans after your annnoucement. I, uh, 'worked' from home today. ;) The casita looks great for occasional FUN roadtrips.
