Welcome to the forum, Gloria! Many of us started out just as you are doing. Check out the member map to see where we are and perhaps you can meet up with some or many of us on your travels as I have done. Also check out the GTG thread (get-together) to see where upcoming gigs will be. It's a great way to meet others in the group and have fun too.

Go out and enjoy yourself. My mom told me after she found out I was gone a whole week without DBF that I was very brave. Yeah, right. I just know that if I'm going to travel like I want, some of it's going to be solo.

Since you, have been camping locally, you already know the basics. Traveling isn't much different than camping locally. The only thing is remember that you will travel slower than if you do by car alone. I average 50 mph with the extra stops for gas and stuff, so I try to limit most days to around 350 miles although I have gone more than 400 at times. I do find that I do get more tired when I tow.

I will probably be in Panama City for a while this summer and Alice lives there. We are having at GTG 12 Apr in Stonewall, Tx and another one 31 Oct at Potter's Creek (Canyon Lake) TX so if you are ready to head out either of those times, we would love to meet you there.

Welcome, Gloria. And from one solo rver to another - it's GREAT. Glad to have you with us.

Keep in touch when you're on the road - you never know where you can meet someone - lots of mini gtg's that way.
