Sorry about the delay in approval - there was a bunch of spam and you got lost in the shuffle for a couple days. That said, so glad to have you with us and hope you become a regular here!

As to which to get - you'll discover we all like different things for different reasons. You need to weigh what will be best for you. I'm full-time and started out doing what you're doing, basically. Bought my rig, and took off a couple months later. In June I'll be starting my 7th year doing this. I have a small Class C and it's worked out to be perfect for me. In fact, when deciding what will replace this, I've pretty much decided something very similar. Just not sure when that will happen - as I intend to drive this one till it has no life left.

You're going to get as many different opinions as there are women on this forum. If you've got RV dealerships nearby you might want to take yourself on a few "field trips" to see what's there. Sit in them, lie down on the bed & couch, sit in the driver's seat -- pretend that it's yours. Eventually you'll find what you like.

Welcome to the forum, Kate! There are several of us in the NE and I'm traveling there this summer. Perhaps you'll get to meet some of us. What you want in an RV will also depend on whether and what kind of traveling you want to do. If you will just be going back and forth from ME to FL for a long term stay, your needs may be different than if you plan to do a lot of traveling. I just sold my house in FL and started full-timing with my dog and cat in a 22' foot Roadtrek. That wouldn't be big enough for most full-timers, but it's just right for me. I like to travel to out-of-the-way places, country roads, small National forest cgs, etc.

I agree with the others, start looking at dealers, rv shows, and online. And feel free to ask lots of questions here. We'll look forward to shopping with you when the time comes.

It's always great to have another person on board that has the passion for travel and exploring. Everyday there is always a subject or two being tossed around. Some forums go days without an entry so this one is great in that regard. Please enter in always. Look forward to traveling along with you as you choose your Rv and travel with it. I figured since I am fulltiming by myself on a four-year plan, and hopefully beyond, that I needed something large and roomy, but sometimes I wonder if I really need all this room. I can say that I left so many "things" behind and I have never missed them once...not once.

Welcome to the forum Kate!

My best advice to you would be to visit as many RV dealerships and RV shows and keep looking until you finally find what you think suits you. Let us know what you have seen and if there is something in particular that catches your eye. There are so many floor plans available that you'll find some you really like and others you won't like at all. Stop by often and let us follow you in your travels.

Let me add my welcome to the others'. Until recently when I lost one of my guys, I traveled with three dogs, two of which were pretty big as you can see from my signature. As for rigs, go to as many dealerships as possible. Tell the salesman to leave you alone and sit on, in, everything. Pretend you're taking a shower - fixing dinner, reading, working on computer, etc. I "visited" the rig I have now on the dealer's lot so much they threatened to start charging me rent. I have been fulltiming the last three years and it was, in spite of no slides, plenty large enough for me and the guys.

Visiting RV dealerships is great advice. Also, if there are any RV shows near you. The third thing you might do is to visit the "Show off your Rigs" area here on the forum. In addition, when you look at the rigs, also pay attention to the amount of storage space versus the amount of weight the rig can carry. Sometimes they don't match up too well (i.e. lots of storage space but very limited weight capability). You don't want to run overweight. Do you think you will always have hookups or will you want to boondock or dry camp much of the time? If so, you will need solar or generator capability. Good luck in the search.

Welcome to the forum! Go to RV shows, dealerships, internet websites, etc. In the end, you will find something you like and want. It is never too early to start looking and learning of what is out there. And please, take us along for the ride, we love road trips.

Welcome to the forum. The choice of an RV depends on personal lifestyle. A trailer requires a tow vehicle and a motorhome can require a car towed behind. Talk to people and check out different rigs at dealers or RV shows.

Welcome to the forum...Most likely you now realize you will get lots of input on your quest for the 'perfect' RVing vehicle for you. Some of us love the simplicity of a small motorhome though I am finding I miss my recliner more each time I use it. I would love to have a real bed and a recliner and I think that calls for at least a 24' 5'er or bumper pull with a slide. Like many have said, try each one on like a new coat, make sure it fits. Hope to see you out there, and I wouldn't mind running into you in your neck of the woods

Welcome to the forum. I met a couple from Maine while I was camping up in Michigan's Upper Peninsula this past summer. They were on their way home from Alaska. Maine is a beautliful state. I hope to get back there someday.

I'm also in the process of debating about selling the house, downsizing to a smaller one or traveling for a bit before settling down. Currently I have an 18 ft. Rockwood Mini Lite 180S which I pull with a Chevy Silverado pickup. I like the truck/TT combo for the ease of parking and using my truck to sightsee with. Whether or not I want to pull it all over creation remains to be seen. I did sit in a Class C MH earlier this spring at an RV show, that had I been looking for a MH, would probably be sitting in my drive now. I just "felt right". But I will keep my TT for now. It has plenty of storage space and being alone, I travel light anyway.

Keep asking questions, studying the web, going t to dealers (and like the others said, ditch the sales person), pick up and read brochures, you can get that same info on line, but it's nice to have the literature to study, put down, and pick up again later and also for comparison between brands.

Hope you home sells quick for you, so you can be on your merry way. I may be in FL this next winter, so if you are going down there, maybe we can meet up someplace.
