hello

Come on in and say hello.

hello

Hello - I'm a new member from Portland, Oregon. I purchased my first RV, a Roadtrek, a year ago, and it was a well used one with many many miles on it. Now that I know I love this size RV, I just traded it in for a 2014 Roadtrek but a smaller model. I almost always travel with my dog but no other humans, and it's just the right size. I would love to hear about the adventures of other women and their RVs, and especially about travel in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. I'm happy to have found this group!

Welcome, Judi, glad to have you with us. Make sure to check the GTG (get together) room - as there is one planned for Oct in OR. Would be great if you could join those of us who will be there.

Welcome to the forum. Sounds as if you found what you and your navigator need to get out their for adventure. Ad Alaska isn't all that far away. You just drake it a day at a time and enjoy all there is to see along the way. Canada is so beautiful, too!

A big Texas welcome, Judi. You've found a great place to meet new people and learn new RV stuff. I'm a newbie to RVing and am so glad I found this forum. These are great women.

Just a note - this is my 3rd summer in Alaska - if you make it to the OR gtg, I'd be happy to answer any questions I can for you about it.

Hi Judi and welcome to the forum! I live in Salem so not too far away.

Hope you can make it to the gtg in September at Tugman State park on the coast. Some people are coming in on September 20th and others will be there the 21st. Check out the "get together" room. We always have a great time! Let me know if you have any questions about where, when, etc.

Welcome Judi! :D I'm a fellow "Trekker"--got mine used just last year, many miles like your first. I'm very fine with a small RV, travel with three dogs, & it's perfect for us. How exciting for you to have a new one! Hope you get further than the west coast so we can meet someday. I'm in NY, but made a cross-country trip to CA this past winter & plan to do it again--grew up in SoCal & still have family there....Happy travels! 8-)

Thanks to all of you for the warm welcome! I look forward to meeting in person someday. So far I have only taken my little RV to California to visit family, and to places in the Pacific Northwest but hopefully I will be able to wander further afield soon.
Carolb, I researched RVs for months before deciding on a Roadtrek. The one that fit my budget was a used 2006 RS and I really loved it. I travel with one medium sized dog and when the mileage got to almost 90,000 I decided to look for a smaller used Trek. I went to a dealer to get an estimate of the trade-in value and I was pleasantly shocked to find that because mine was a diesel ,the dealer would give me just a few thousand dollars less than what I paid for it. So that's how I was able to get a new one. I'm thrilled! Is it possible to fall in love with a hunk of machinery on four wheels?
