Hi Ladies, I decided to introduce myself

Come on in and say hello.

Hi Ladies, I decided to introduce myself

Postby mnladyus » Sat Jun 22, 2013 11:10 pm

I'm Mary Ann from Northern MN. I have done tent camping most of my life and then when I bought my Van I found out that I could pull a Scamp camper with it, So I've had my Scamp 13ft for three years and I love it. It has everything I need. I camp/travel with my buddy Butch (the Schnauzer). I hope to upgrade to a class B or C in the next couple of years, but I'm happy with what I have for now. I love the freedom that camping gives me. I haven't ventured out of Minnesota yet, but I have the itch to go really bad, so it just might happen this summer. I think you gals and this site will give me that little push I need. I'm so happy to have found this site!

Happy Travels

Hi and Welcome, MaryAnn. So glad to have you with us. Love your Scamp!

(As an aside, love the picture, but all future ones have to be hosted off-site ... take a look at the maintenance tech room for information on that).

I did a cross-country trip (17ft Roadtrek) & was welcomed by so many of these great ladies! Hope to meet up with you someday! 8-)

Welcome to the forum. We hope that you get to find a larger map and can explore even more places and meet even more folks...starting with some of us! :) Your set up looks just fine for traveling down the road. The more I travel the more I understand what I need and what I want are two very different things!  But having adventures that is a given.....

Thank you ladies for the nice welcome. The photo was taken the day I bought the Scamp in February (Note the S**W). I was on my way to the factory here in MN to order a new one when someone posted this used one so I stopped to check it out on the way. Well the rest is history. I paid for it right on the spot. Very nice condition, clean, and never been cooked or smoked in, and it was less than half the price of a new one. I feel I got a really good deal, and this little camper has met all my needs and then some. I take off as often as I can. Money and time seem to get in the way.

Welcome from another Minnesotan! I live just west of Minneapolis on Lake Minnetonka. I don't have an RV yet, still doing the tent thing, but someday...

Where in northern MN are you? I am planning to go camping in August along the North Shore (Gooseberry Falls State Park) with a Meet-Up group of campers. I also have family living in Deer River, MN, if you know where that is (near Grand Rapids).

This is a great group! Lots of wonderful, smart, courageous, fun, goofy, helpful women!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

BarbaraRose , I've camped at Gooseberry Falls many times over the years. It's getting harder to get a spot now with so many campers out there. I love the North Shore, and visit at least a couple times a year. It's about a 1.5 hour drive for me. Deer River is about 2.5 hours west of me. If you know when you're going for sure, I would love to meet up with you. Give me a shout when you know.

Hi MaryAnn, welcome to Women RV. I've been a bit lax in welcoming all the newcomers to this forum of late, but today am working on that. Love you Scamp, so cute.

Hey you want to take a short trip out of state, I will be in the west central part of Michigan's Upper Peninsula starting this Friday all through next week and possibly till July 14th. Van Riper State Park is just down the road from where I will be staying. It's near Champion, west of Marquette.

Have a wonderful summer enjoying your Scamp and post about your adventures when you can.
