Retirement IS All It's Cracked Up to Be!

I love your pod! I sometimes wish I could rade my boxy, high, heavy trailer for a smooth, sleek pod type of trailer, but I am stuck with this until I build up enough equity to make trading worth while. Hope to meet you somewhere down the line!

I live in SW Virginia so I'll be staying in the East for awhile. I still do what is equivalent to about 5 weeks of work for prior employer (early retiree thing I mentioned earlier; I get paid enough for those 5 weeks to allow me to retire much more comfortably than I could have on pension alone so no complaints) and have to be available to do some of that during the winter. I'm thinking I can work it out to have a month next winter to go south so that is my goal now.

I loved what one of you said about the couple that travels for a couple hours at a time. I can see me doing that not only because I'm learning to tow the thing and it's more stressful initially but I've always thought we need to take more time along the way even when I'm doing road trips in a car.

I'll check out the gtg strand; sounds interesting.

Hi Podding. I'm finally catching up with the new folks here and want to welcome you aboard. I too tow a small TT, but it's an 18 ft. Rockwood Mini Lite and I really like it. Like you, my trips are close to home, the longest so far being a 500 miles round trip. I work in the Michigan State parky system during the summer, so my travels are limitied to a couple of nights and days on my days off. I'm planning to hit the road in about three years and travel some of the western states. Whether or not it will be with this trailer or something else, remains to be seen.

Looking forward to hearing about your adventures, even it's just an overnight someplace. Ever get into northern Michigan, look me up.

I love your Furry Crew! And it looks like you tow with a truck. I'm okay with my Highlander on relatively flat terrain but will definitely have to get something more suited to do anything in the mountains. I used to camp in the Appalachians but don't think I'll be heading there yet.

I don't yet have an RV but do agree with you that Retirement is all it's cracked up to be - I've never regretted doing it.
