Fulltime Child of the Planet

Come on in and say hello.

Fulltime Child of the Planet

Postby DearMissMermaid » Sat Nov 23, 2013 5:19 pm

Ahoy mateys!

I am in my 50's with a 28 foot 1994 Class C Tioga Montara. Bought her in December 2009, for recuperating, rambling, and writing.

The first half of my life was spent in America, second half on boats afloat and far flung islands mostly around the Caribbean. Back to America in 2009, bought a used motorhome while I figured out where to land and live, turns out I love the RV lifestyle, so 4 years later, here I am still puttering around, doing more with less.

I picked up a little hitchhiker, my Harley Dog. I don't tow a car, I have a bicycle I am relearning to ride.

Life is goof!

As of November I am in a campground in Melbourne Florida for a few winter months. For the past 2 months I was camping around the southeast after a 5 month workamping stint. I will wander around some more soon. Would love to meet new friends.

Hoosier Welcome :D

I'd imagine you'd have a story or two to swap around a campfire. Perhaps one day we'll have a chance.

Lots of gals there in Florida already and more heading there for the big GTG near Tampa in late January. Check that out in the GTG thread.

Welcome!

Welcome, Miss Mermaid, glad to have you with us. Sounds like you have lots of stories to share around the campfire in person, or virtually here on the forum. Will look forward to them.

Like others have said - many in FL and a couple gtg's coming up in FL this winter ... check them out.

Howdy from Texas! I too spent many a year (13) living aboard a sailboat, but in the Pacific!! Many things are similar and I love it!

Aw, ya'll been way too nice.

I would love to meet other RV women. I am a fulltimer.

In the summer I workamp in a lonely park at a beautiful place called Lake Hartwell on the border of northern Georgia and South Carolina.

I try to travel in the fall and spring, would love to travel year round, but I can't take the cold, so I hole up somewhere warm which has been Florida the past few winters. I workamp for about 5 months in spring and summer, so that just leaves spring and fall to travel for now.

I do live in my little old wheel estate year round with no other home, not even a storage unit.

I have a crazy little dog that is madly in love with everyone he meets including other friendly dogs.

I have a blog I post daily on, most days. LOL!

Welcome MissM :D May see you here in FL--I'm not fulltime, but "wintertime." I'm in Brooksville right now helping out with very elderly aunt, but will be in the Disney area in a couple weeks to gtg for a few days with several forum friends! Hope to see you too 8-)
