Hi Everyone

Getting ready to plan retirement in a few years & my dream is to fulltime & (sing the old Chevy song) "See the USA...".

I don't have a camper or motorhome yet, but the hunt is on! Leaning towards a motorhome at this point. Shopping & reading everything I can get may hands on. No one in my family camps (I was always the outdoors one), so I'm realllllly going to learn as I go.

Told my cousin about my thoughts & she pointed me to ontheroadwithbeth. Cousin (Roxanne) & Beth (bethers?) went to school way-back-when (see Beths' blog - Aug 2012). Anywhoooo from Beth, found this forum and have been reading all the threads (not done yet but I'm getting there). Then I'll hit you guys with all my questions.

I don't think Beth has stopped blogging but sometimes work or travel takes over and living takes our time allotments.... then we have to play catch up or moving on when we get a chance to make more posts....

Welcome to the forum.....the first adventure for many of us is the research and hunt for what rig will be the right one for us. If you have been reading you already know that the answers are very diverse...

Have fun, learn as you go and keep us in the loop......with questions, observations, opinions and shared laughter (guess those could be yours and/or ours )....we will be here!

Thank you for the welcome - I don't really know Beth, just have been following her blog. Never dawned on me that she's too busy on the Lulu Belle to post during the summer since I read all here postings at one time. Just shows how little I know.

Welcome! Glad to have you with us.

You can ask lots of questions, but to answer this one - I haven't stopped. But since I'm back in the same place as last summer, doing the same job, just haven't been repeating all the same things. I was just thinking that I need to do a post today or tomorrow - so will try to get that done. I do have things to show and say - so thanks for pushing me!

yes almost - I'm pretty close to Wilmington - 30 minutes just north of there. I say I live in JoShoreField (police & fire are Joliet - a block away is Shorewood but address is Plainfield)

I have relatives that moved a couple years ago from Shorewood. I was married in Joliet. Graduated high school in Braidwood. Haven't lived in the area since 1980 but almost all my immediate family still in the area.

I hadn't thought about that song for a long, long time, but used to sing it as a kid along with the commercial! Brought back nice memories.

Many of us are in the same boat - waiting to retire but wanting to get a start on things. I got my van last August & am just now getting it on the road more & more. Can't wait until my time is unlimited & I can hit the road more. Until then we live a little vicariously thru this beautiful group of ladies who share their adventures and soak in all we can about everything related to this way of life.

I'm in Kansas so feel free to drop by anytime...

I'm apologizing in advance. And I'm blaming Mitch. She got me hooked on the tv series 24. Had never seen it - am now spending all my extra time watching the first season. After which will follow the second, and so on. I never even got my latest pictures off my camera yesterday or today - and am working the next 10 days. Maybe one night after work ... as it's way too dangerous to watch then (I'd never get any sleep.) But I promise - I'll get there.
