I keep my reading to history, archaeology and geology mostly. When I saw this book at Costco and realized it was written by Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard, I was hesitant because I've never like Bill O'Reilly on his TV programs. However, when I saw it was a history of the story of Jesus' life beginning even before he was born, I decided this would be something I'd like to read. It covers from about 44 BC, Julius Caesar, the Roman world Jesus would be born into up to his crucifixion. There's lots of interesting side information provided in footnotes. It's not a religious book, but rather history. O'Reilly has also written similar books like "Killing Lincoln" and "Killing Kennedy" which I will definitely read after finding this one about Jesus so interesting. I think when a book can keep you glued to it even when you know how it's going to end, it must be well written.

I bought all three but I didn't get to read them yet. I'm keeping them for the travels this year.

I'm also a fan of Bill O'Reilly....He donates sooo much money from his book sales & all the other things available on his show, that I just really admire him... Wounded Warriors is one of the charities he really sponsors... that's one of them that I too contribute to..
So hoping I find my stocking full with a book... Hoping someone took the hint that I wanted that book for Christmas....
I have Killing Lincoln.... couldn't put it down & was much surprised by how much I didn't know about him.............

Nope, not very often. Study, study, study. Learn, learn, learn. I enjoy learning about the past, even going back millions of years. Love to be able to drive and recognize and somewhat understand how the landscape came to be as it is in the present and how ancient civilizations functioned, survived, and disappeared. All lessons for the current age.
