An Available Man

Postby asirimarco » Sun Mar 10, 2013 12:43 pm

Reading a really good book by Hilma Wolitzer - An Available Man - it is about a widower which sounds like it would be a tear jerker but there are laugh out loud moments in it. Very upbeat. I got it from our library don't know how available it is.

Thanks for the recommendation. Altho this is fiction, it sounded just like what happened when my mother died. My Dad was swamped with calls from women!!! Enjoyable reading. lyn

Because I enjoyed the Available Man, I checked out another book from the library by the same author. THE DOCTORS DAUGHTER.

I like Hilma Wolitzer's writing style. Such real characters and situations we could all have been in, or are going to be in!!!
Mystery too how it will turn out...I'm half way through and wanting to hurry through to see the ending.

I will add the author to the list of "books I want to read".
