FINISHED AFTER SIX YEARS

It's done! And I even finished three weeks before my grandson's due date! And I made a hat too! I started the blanket six years ago and only worked on it when I went to trade-shows and had to sit in motel rooms at night. Guess having a need for something does motivate me!

Good job, granny! Did you start this 6 years ago in anticipation of the upcoming event?
I like your bedspread, too.

Beautiful!!!
Never thought of starting something that far in advance, but not a bad idea. ;)

I was wondering about the timing too, did you start it when they first kissed?

Good job!

Thank you for the compliments.

To answer questions. This blanket started in 2007 (guess it’s been seven years in the making!) with a trip to Goodwill and five skeins of baby yarn selling for $1.00 each! Now that’s a bargain that’s too good to pass up says the Queen of Cheap to herself! My son’s best friend and his wife were expecting and I decided to make a baby blanket for them. Macy is in second grade this year and could write her own thank you notes! I started it but ended up only taking it to trade-shows to alleviate total boredom while sitting in the booth waiting for participates who were in sessions and the motel room at night. I used to crotchet, knit, cross stitch or sew all the time but there just isn’t anything I like on TV anymore and I have to have something to occupy my hands while watching TV. Can’t do those things while I’m on the computer or reading! Once I found out I was going to be a grandma I decided I had to bite the bullet and finish it, so I have been watching Everybody Loves Raymond reruns from 9-10! So as you see, I wasn’t planning in advance!

Mitch, I love that comforter too. It’s another one of my bargains from Crazy Days several years ago. I bought it for the 5er but it was too heavy for summer use or those 4:00 am power surges! I’d love to have it in our room but it’s suede cloth and also attracts dog hair like a magnet, so it’s been relegated to one of the guest rooms. My bed is seldom made because little Miss Radar just sows it up anyway!

Yes, Tina, we are getting very excited…only about 2 ½ weeks to go!

Beautiful blanket and cap. I was thinking that was a very long pregnancy, lol.
