makeover on old mini blinds

just doing some research on treehugger.com (a fun site to wander around in) which
led to a link to do a makeover on old mini blinds into roman style shades with cloth.

I thought they were pretty cool although I'd want fabric that would block the light better
or even the reflective fabric to reflect the sun would be even better in a climate like
mine. The possiblities are endless for what ever you need the purpose to be. If anyone
is game to do this, please post pictures, I would love to see the finished deal. I'm
keeping this project in mind for a future window treatment myself.

That's called a Roman Shade. I had one made for my kitchen window. I've bought the pattern to make one but it seemed way too complicated. This seems a bit easier.
