Looks like it would be very useful on the road! And nice that you can use three different types of fuel.

That does look like a handy gadget to have.

I don't own one, but I have used them on river trips. When you want to boil water quickly, nothing is better.

That does look handy and doesn't take up much storage space.

I have a friend who uses one with a GI-normous wok. (Mmmm ... Thai food ...)

What a neat gizmo. Was looking at the comparisons between the two styles they have. Certainly a lot less cumbersome than my Coleman Road Grill. I really like the idea of 3 fuel type options. Would be nice if you wanted to sit outside on a cold evening and start a small wood burning fire to gather round to stay warm. They even had a V-day promo....but I'll have to pass, and bookmarked that one for sure. :)

Someone was using one on the beach the other day - they love theirs. Were surprised I knew what it was - all because of this forum :)

I just now (April 1) ordered the Volcano II Deluxe. I'll report back when I get it.
Right now, it's on sale for $135 (from $150) plus $20 shipping.

Oh, I forgot. We also brought a volcano stove along with us on river trips, along with another Partners 4-burner stove. It's great for getting water to boil in nothing flat.

Got the Volcano 2 the other day and have so far, grilled chicken and pork tenderloin (2 different days). I LOVE the stove, but I see I have a LOT to learn about cooking with charcoal. I'm trying burgers tonight on it. Haven't cooked with the propane attachment yet, but that thing really throws out the heat.

Since I graded myself a D+ on my first two grilling attempts, I went ahead and ordered the darn instructions/cookbook ($17). There are no instructions anywhere on the internet that I could find, and the included instructions were sketchy at best. I am still very unclear on what to put where, due to the "heat diffuser" piece.

The thing is a nifty piece of engineering and is very sturdily built, although weighing in at a hefty 26# (including propane attachment and both packing boxes). Holds my #10 DO with no problem. That'l be my next venture - a DO meal. The included carrying case appears well made, too.

That's my story. I'll take a photo of the burgers cooking tonight. Trying to mimic Liz, I'll attempt an artistic spin on the picture (I'm not holding out much hope of success!) :D
