Blood Pressure Monitor

Postby mitch5252 » Mon Aug 31, 2009 1:39 pm

..

For those of you who do, or would like to, monitor your blood pressure (I had a stroke at 40 - bp 220/180  ), I just picked up this new monitor at Wallyworld ($55). I love it. You clamp it on your wrist and hold your left hand just below your right shoulder for about 10 seconds (machine wants your wrist above your heart and beeps to let you know you're in the right spot). It is so simple compared to those above the elbow cuff things - this wrist thing is like a somewhat flexible metal bracelet.

(quarter placed for scale (for those of you who are proportionally challenged...))

No heart problem!
BRAIN problem - Stroke is in the BRAIN...jeez...
But maybe it'll convince Sparkle to be gentle on me?

And to think, my friends used to pay me good liquor to put their heads on Frederick's bodies...I'd love to have that body I put Sparkle's head on!

Yup. And so would regular exercise, quit smoking, no/low salt diet, no stress...
Might as well let Sparkle have at me - put me out of my misery...

PS: I don't smoke. To quote Soos - ACK ACK ACK ! ! !

I've been looking to replace mine since it went crazy and told me my BP was like 68/45 over and over. Even changed the batteries and it still showed very low #s. I went to the DRs for a BP check just to be sure, (but I guess if it was really that low I'd have been comatose  ;) ), and it was in the 'almost' high range, so knew it was the monitor.

What brand is it?
