Looking for rechargeable camp lantern

Thanks to all of those who recommended a porta potti. It came, and looks good. Haven't used it yet though .

Anyway, I am looking for a rechargeable battery camp lantern.

I ordered one from Amazon - it was supposedly ac/dc/crank/solar but after 18 hours on my house AC the battery still wasn't fully charged (the light should have turned from red to green). It has one small solar cell on top, which would probably charge the battery in a year or so. The crank looked more decorative than useful. I would probably break it first try.

I am sending it back to Amazon tomorrow, and am looking for a replacement.

Recommendations appreciated!

Mitch & I both bought one just before the Petit Jean AR gtg, then Tina won one that we gave away there. We got them at Walmart & I think they were $30-$40 range. Mine is out in the RV right now, but I think I found the same one on the Coleman website. You could probably Google search & get a better price, but the link will show you which one it is.

What Vickie said. I mostly keep mine in the house for power outages.

The cords (12V and 120V) store in the base of the lantern. Keep it on low (which is NOT much dimmer than high) and the battery lasts for a really long time.

I highly recommend it. (OMG, I agree with Vickie????)

Gosh, that was a fun GTG! And that's where Belle was kidnapped and rescued by our Herschel (yes, Tina, you know he belonged to all of us...)

I should have posted here for recommendations in the first place, before I got the off-brand one at Amazon. I should have remembered that one can't go too wrong with Coleman. I don't have much experience with camping stuff (little to none!) so input from those that have "been there, done that" is EXTREMELY appreciated!! Thank you!!!

The lantern was a bit hard to find - I guess because it is the "end of the season" - but I finally found it at Target (couldn't find it at Walmart - probably their camping gear has cycled out for this year).

Ordered it online, it should be here next week.

Anne, part of the fun at a GTG is also looking at all the neat stuff people have gotten for their camping. I like being able to see how it works and then decide IF I need one too LOL

And Karen and I are both people way too susceptible to other people's gadgets.

I do need a 12 step gadget program to keep me from the ones that I really won't end up using enough. Like I do love my smoker - but can tell you right now it's not getting enough use to be worthwhile for me and the space it takes up. Does that mean I'm getting rid of it? Not until I decide something else really does need that space. Oh, and when I want to use it - where is it again?

But then there are the other gadgets I'd never want to be without (my Oxygenic shower head and egg cooker, for example, and latest my ice cream maker).

Oh my gosh, I forgot Robogrips and Fasta Pasta. Used the later last night and would not want to be without those RoboGrips!

And don't forget our Furminator (although Peaches prefers a brush I have - that works best when I need to get the most hair!)

LOL - I didn't. Mine still hasn't been wet, except maybe the drip or two of sweat when inflating it on my living floor...
