Karen West told me about a portable icemaker,, in fact I saw hers when I first visited her in Kerrville... but I forgot where she got it. I KNOW it was cheaper than these I'm seeing online now.

If anyone knows about this or if Karen sees my post.. please post where to get one,, asap!

thanks,

Janet

If I remember correctly some people were able to purchase their ice-makers at very low prices at an end of the season sale at Target. Mine is an Emerson and I think it was 139. I could have bought it for less on-line but decided that I would purchase locally because if I had problems I wouldn't have to ship it back. I had read reviews and they were running about 50/50 on the performance of the unit and with my luck I was sure that I would probably get a lemon. I've had it for four years and it works great and with the cost of buying packaged ice it has paid for itself several times over.
