Good Morning everyone,
Can't say much about stuff for breakfast here either. My larder is getting down casue I haven't been able to get to store to do someserious shopping. Wind and snow have been the norm for the past two days, heading into a third today. And like Barbie said, cold too. -13 wind chill here right now. Got to get a wind shift and shut off the lake effect snow machine from Lake Michigan here. Went to the vet with Tessa yesterday. Fine when we left except for snow covered/icy roads, but started snowing after we got there and by the time we left, I was driving in near whiteouts heading back home. Needless to say, pulled into garage and shut the door, no more going out Stayed like that all day.
Reading about eveybody getting together here and there down south sure makes me with I could join you. But right now finances dictate otherwise and must stay near vet with Ms. Tessa now too. But Maybe next winter, things will be different.
The latest tests on Ms. Tessa show that her BUN, CREA and potassium levels are high. Indication that the kidney disease is progressing. Have some meds to try to get the potassium level down and that my stablize the other two. But the vet and I both agree that we are at a point where "quality of life" is about all we can do now. That and keep her on a strict kidney diet food. If she's hungry she will eat, if not so be it. He will not put a time line on this cause each dog is different and this dog is tough. But I know that eventually that "Rainbow Bridge" will be calling, then I will be down to just Sassy.
My neighbors are leaving for FL later today. Wish I could jump in the Flex with them. But I must do what I have to do right now.
Better times will come.
Kathleen, good luck on your diet. I too have started on mine. Years ago I did what is called the "Power Protein Diet" that I got from my holistic nurse practioneer. It comes out in book form. Takes work, but I lost 40 pounds on that diet. So am going to do it again. One also needs to make sure that one drinks plenty of water and also exercises regularly as well. Between watching what I eat and going to my senior aerobic classes each week, I am hoping to dump a few pounds before summer gets here.
I'm glad to see that Sarah and Wendy are moving along and that today they will be meeting with Dawn. Such fun. I can't wait to hear about the GTG in FL. Loved the pics from the one in AZ. Sounds like everybody's keeping busy out there too.
Well, time to move along here. Waiitng to see what mom nature is going to do this morning. I have an appt. in town, which I cancelled yesterday and also want to get to the store. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Have a wonderful day everyone and for those of you who are traveling, keep safe and enjoy the road.

Good morning everyone. Lori, no problem on the muffins this morning.
I am making breakfast here if anyone wants some. Sausage, gravy, eggs, and toast. I wish I made good biscuits. I am thinking about trying. Sarah, Wendy and Paul would be the testers. Getting ready to go see if Sarah wants to come have coffee with me while we wait for Wendy and Paul to get up and appear outside of their rigs.
I am so sorry to hear about Ms. Tessa. It sounds like you are right and Quality of Life is now the most important thing. Enjoy all the time you have left. This will be a bittersweet time for you. Remember that we are here for you.
Kathleen, good luck on the diet. The multiple small meals is the way to go. I wish I was better at it.
Well, better get my rear in gear. Hope everyone has a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

GOOD MORNING ALL!
I am back in Orlando now for the rest of the week, trying to remember to gather all the stuff I forgot to take to the trailer this past weekend and put it in containers. Kathy and I both went to my dermatologist yesterday. I got zapped again, and she got a total body exam plus 5 biopsies!! They suspect squamous cell cancer in some of her many moles, too. I am so happy she was motivated by my plight and went. She has another appointment the week we get back from the GTG for another biopsy and to talk about the results of the ones she had yesterday.
Yesterday when I got back here, this laptop would not boot up at all. I tried everything for a long time, getting the message that automatic repair could not work to restore it. I was just ready to give up when I tried one last time, managed to get to a page where it let me choose to scan the entire thing and repair stuff. It found several things from the same site infected, and some things corrupted. It took hours to scan it all, but, when it was done, I am now able to get on and use it again! Hallelujah!
I fired up my old laptop, too, and got that updated and installed a free Avast virus scanner....will now update it with a paid version. I also need to find a virus protection thing for my new tablet. Any suggestions?
Today I need to make sure the dogs' rabies vaccinations are up to date so I can get into the campground next week. I also need to have the pharmacy at my daughter's send info to this Publix pharmacy for my Symbicort prescription.
Sorry to hear the news about Tessa, Sue. As others have said, and I am sure you are doing this, enjoy every second you can while life lasts.
To all those all the roads, safe travels and happy trails.
Off to give Dinah her phenobarbital meds now. Hope the weather suits you all today, and be careful out there on the roads.

good Morning from the deep freeze... it was 4 with a windchill of -15 when I got up at 9... ugh hate cold weather...
I had oatmeal with frozen blue berries and raspberries... I think that is my stock breakfast for a while... and like the doctor said set the timer so I did and will do that for every 3 hours... even if I eat only a tomato or apple that keeps the furnace going... the powder drink will be my evening meal for a while... and a small regular meal for lunch/dinner... I will keep you posted... will buy the green tea on Thursday when I go out and will let you all know how the suggestions work... once before I tried to drink it and yuck yuck yuck... so I gave the box to my daughter...
With everyone going to Fl for the GTG there is a huge drain on people left in the north...
Drive careful and pull over when you need a few zzzzz's helps your moral....

Slept in this morning. It is currently -9 below zero.
Supposed to get all the way up to zero today! A heat wave!
The past couple weeks the temps have been above freezing during the day up to around 40. That can weaken the ice on the lakes. Two days ago, a couple with a 2 year old and a 9 month old in their car, decided to drive across the lake in their SUV. Unfortunately, they then decided to drive thru a channel and the car broke thru the ice there (you NEVER drive a car thru a channel no matter what, because of the currents moving thru there, the ice is always thin). The mom, dad and 2 year old got out safely but the baby was in the car seat in the back. The Water Patrol got there with divers and got the baby out but not before she was under the water for about 15 minutes. They were able to revive her but she is in extremely critical condition right now. It is a very sad situation. Something the dad will have to live with for the rest of his life. There were two other cars that went thru the ice in other areas of the lake within 2 hours of that one but those people all got out safely. There are warnings posted all around the lakes here that the ice is never safe, but people just go out anyways.
I wrenched my back yesterday, so today I will get out my yoga mat and do my "Yoga for Back Pain" DVD to get it stretched out.
Have a good day!

Soos, my computer guru says the paid virus programs are no better than the free ones especially the discs you buy. Said to just stop and think how old the disc may be so up to date can it be. I have the free versions of AVG and Malware. He also warned me about those ads on TV saying they will scan and repair your computer. Said many of them have really bad viruses that take over your computer. I'm pretty anal so I have a 2nd computer with all my bank, credit, etc info on it just in case my main computer crashes. I also download my pictures, documents, etc to a flashdrive about ever three months.

I'm back, went to WM and got my patio matt and a few other things.
I have used the free AVG since late 90's and have had great service.
No problems what so ever and they let me know if something is up
and also when they have caught something and saved my computer!
I posted on my blog with pic's with what I got today if you want to

It's very sad about the family in the car. There are reports that alcohol was involved. People should remember flowing water and thin ice and cars are dangerous.
I have used AVG for virus detector for years and have had good service. About two years ago my computer started to freeze up. i took in to Computer Brainz and they told me I had 85 virus's on it and would remove them for so many$$$ per virus( i forget$$). I took the computer to another service shop who called me and said, "No virus's but the interior of the computer is very dirty. Static electricity and dust can cause trouble." the computer was cleaned and worked well for another year and a half and started freezing up. John took the cover off and it was very dusty inside. He cleaned it. Computer worked so now when ever it starts to work very slow or freezed up we just clean it.
Kathleen i know how you feel about having to loose weight. i have struggled with this all my adult life. Loose some, gain it back and so forth. last fall i was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetis. The nurse practioner who teaches the diabetes information at the local hospital asked me if I wanted to count diet exchanges or count carbs. I chose the carbs. i have lost 20 lbs since October and feel great. Working on another 30 now. I find using the controlled carbohydrate method works for me. I can't find the connection tho between green tea and loosing weight. To me green tea tastes like grass. Are you supposed to consume several cups of it a day and it helps metablolism? If it helps I guess I could gulp down several cups.

Thanks Rita I am not sure what the green tea does but will ask the doctor... she said two cups a day... I put on 100 lb when they put me on prednisone several years ago and it has stuck every since... It will take a year or two to get down to where I want to... it is sad...
Oh the people that went through the ice brought memories of 4 of my class mates in 11 grade... during Christmas break they tried to walk across Wolf Lake... the ice broke one of the boys made it to shore however he had to crawl up a steep hill to get to a house and by the time help came the other 3 had drown... it was a horrible time for all of us... the young man that survived quit school and joined the military... those memories are not good ones... strange I had not thought of that in more than 40 years... so sad for the father that drove that car out on the ice...

Just an FYI... The baby that was in the car that went thru the ice, has died. So tragic!
They also said that 4 more cars (7 total) have gone thru the ice here in the past 3 days. People just don't get it. I live on a channel between two bays and it is like a freeway out there with cars, trucks, etc, constantly driving thru there. So crazy!
