Morning all,

The last day of 2012 has arrived. Anybody got anything to accomplish this year, better get going  Then tomorrow we can start with a clean slate again.

I'm just going to enjoy the day, since I"m not home to accomplish anything there. Need to run to town this morning when it gets daylight and pick up a few things, although if I don't get there, it won't really matter. The weather forecast is calling for lake effect snow, maybe 1-3 or possible 4 inches here and all across the Lake Superior shoreline in the U.P. Supposed to be pretty windy too, so good day to hunker down inside and look out.

The girls and I had a good day yesterday. Took a little ride around the area for a while and then came home and enjoyed a nice walk in the sunshine. First sunny day we have had in awhile and felt good. Cold though. Highs here have only been in the teens or low 20's. Haven't been above freezing since I got here and won't be for the forseeable future. Typical weather this time of year. Although it can be bracing when walking, it is so invigorating. There's been little wind, so that makes a big difference.

Got to start packing this week, for the trip home on Saturday. Won't have as much going back as had coming up since I've eaten the food stuff and also used up the paper stock pretty much. Gonna pack a bit differenly going back to see if I gain more room.

Barbie, I think that's disgusting of your manager to act like that. If that's the way the Great Clips runs their business, then perhaps maybe it's time to find employment elsewhere for a private shop or something. You've been buffetted around by them for what seems like forever.

Nothing new to comment on here this morning, so will sit and wait for some others to chime in and see what's new. You all have a great day to end 2012.

GOOD MORNING SUE AND ALL!

Warmer at 50 degrees this morning, compared to the upper 30s yesterday early. I am getting ready to head back home, stopping on my way to get my first zappings of my cancer on my legs. The kids will head that way later, and we plan to spend New Year's Eve at Sea World, watching some shows and gazing at the pretty lights. We get back home by midnight to watch the ball drop on TV.

2012 has been a decent year----if 2013 is half as good to us, we should do ok. If those danged senators could come to some sort of agreement today, I am sure we will be better than if they remain stubborn and stupid.

Gotta get moving here----hope you all have a good day and Eve.

good morning ladies
have a very sick little Pixie girl this morning, so its off to the vet soon as they open. She has an abcessed tooth (my guess) but
she still ate her dinner last night. We'll see what the vet says. Both the girls are scheduled for dental work starting in February.
Her swollen face makes me hurt. Catch ya'll later, enjoy your day

Happy New Year's Eve day to everyone!! It is also DHs birthday. Tried to get his son & DIL to come over for dinner and fireworks, but nope. So I made him his favorite Chocolate Mayonaise (with pudding) cake last night. I took Happy Birthday crepe paper streamers and put them on the Christmas tree making it a birthday tree and put streamers around the house. Birthday celebrate today. If the weather is good enough we'll go skeet shooting. Tonight I'll make his mom's meatballs recipe and we'll celebrate the New Year's Eve with a little champagne, light some fireworks and watch the ball drop on TV.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy New Years celebration, however you celebrate. 2012 was good and wishing everyone a blessed 2013. I celebrate everyday that I awake and have one more day, week, or year to live :P Aloha y'all

We're probably not going to do much maybe the rest of the week, weather is not treating us well. Forecast today is rain, sleet, snow then changing back and forth :( I can deal with snow, it is the ice that is scary. We still have probably six inches of last weeks snow left on the ground. Oh well we had such a mild winter last year maybe this is payback!

Donna I don't know if you have Rural King stores down in Fl but up here they have nice little ceramic heaters for $14.99 on sale from $19.99 which I thought was a good price. Red, it sounds like you are giving your DH and great birthday celebration, too bad his son & DIL will miss the cake, their loss. I've never had Chocolate Mayonnaise cake with or without pudding. Ava I hope Pixie is better soon!

Toby was so unhappy with me last night, I put a little apple cider vinegar and water in his ear, and he freaked out. I picked him up and he was trembling. It took him all evening to settle down. I've put medicine in his ears before but guess this felt different. Then this morning when he scratched at his ear I realized I treated the wrong one  I'll have to think of another way to get some in a little at a time.

Off to get ready for the day take care and enjoy yours.

Good morning ladies! I am starting to feel a little better now. I also have a sinus infection but that is starting to break up this morning so hopefully I will be better soon.

I got a voicemail from the manager at one of the other shops last night which wasn't very nice. She is a real b&%*ch anyways. So I was very upset and cried for quite awhile. My friend Steve came over for awhile (Bill was out of town for the day) to console me. I just can't believe how crazy and out of control this whole thing has gotten. Have these people never been sick??

Anyways, Sue, sounds like you are enjoying your little trip to the UP. So nice to relax with no worries and just hunker down and enjoy the snow.

Soos, have fun at SeaWorld tonight! Sounds like fun!

Good Morning everyone... busy forum it is... I am just finishing my first cup of coffee... got an apple fritter I will share... Oh Red my mom used to also make that cake but we called it salad dressing cake as we could not afford mayo! that sure brought back memories... she used coco powder for the chocolate...

Sounds like there are several sick pups out there... sure hope they get well soon... Shadow seems to be a tough one and does not get sick very often...

We are back to gray days here in Normal... loved the beautiful sun yesterday!

I got a letter from the lady that was cleaning... I cannot tell her the real reason for letting her go as I would hurt her feelings... guess I will simply not say anything... I do not like confrontations... makes me very uncomfortable...

I will run the vacuum today and catch up on any laundry it will only be one load as how many clothes can one person wear!!!

No celebration planned for here... tv and bed...

Take care everyone and enjoy New Years Eve
Kathleen

Barbie you and I were posting at the same time... I am confused as to why another manager would get involved sounds like a rats nest to me... You need to take care of yourself and maybe start looking at your options... there are not many jobs out there but there must be a place that can use a hard worker like you... take care my friend...

I really enjoyed visiting my grandkids, but am very happy to be back home in my RV. Also happy that it was in perfect condition after being parked at Tampa Airport for four days--and my bike was still attached. I had really been worrying about it.

Today is going to be a day of rest. I unpacked last night and put away the groceries I had bought. Today I will go through the mail I picked up at my son's house, and do things like balance my checkbook. Got new stickers for my license plate also.

Also, going to make more plans for driving part way up the east coast and heading back to Michigan in April. I always feel more comfortable if I have a trip planned out and most reservations made.

It is a bit chilly here so enjoying my small electric heater. Donna, make sure you get one with two power settings so you can run it on of half-power or 700 watts if you need to. Sometimes a full 1500 watts is too much if you want to run other items.

Supposed to warm up a bit today and the rest of the week here is Florida. Looking forward to the warmth! Have a good day, all.

Oops! Forgot to put my post on clipboard and lost it :(

After illness and death among family and friends in 2012, I was hoping for a better start to 2013. Sketchy info but apparently a cousin has terminal cancer and my brother is going in for a biopsy next week. I continue to keep Sharon (Sprinter) in my thoughts and prayers as well.

Great call from 8 yo GD yesterday - they had driven through the park where I stay in Kansas when visiting them and she was wishing I was there! Talked with the other 2 kids and their mama.

Still too cold and windy here!

LeRoy is feeling much better so imagine he will be ready for the board game tonight. No plans to attend the potluck tho. Imagine I will see the New Year in alone - no partiers here.

Everyone have a safe, fun New Year's Eve!

Funny how somethings hit us differently ... I've been brooding this posts name all morning. I know just what Sue mean ... last day of the year ... but I am NOT going to let it be the LAST day ... nope ... we will all be here tomorrow.

Anita, it's getting harder and harder that as we get older, more and more of those we love leave us. And it's made harder when more and more of them are even younger than us. Not acceptable. Some of you might feel your ages, some less, some more. I know every day that I'm surprised by my age. I don't feel that I am the age that my body is. It just creeps up on us.

And ... here comes 2013 ... just around the corner. Soos, do we have to say rabbits more than once for the start of a new year? Just checking ... I might want to try to remember to do it this time.

I haven't gotten too invested in New Year's Eve for a long time (other than to remind me to change the date on documents :o ) To me every morning is a new beginning..... every evening is an opportunity to say thank you and re-evaluate what changes might be made or journeys might be begun in the morrow....

Well, things are looking up. There is a new Fantastic Sam's salon that just opened up next door to my apartment complex last week. The GM there is a former boss of mine who I got along with really well, so I just called her. She was so excited to hear from me and said she has been trying to find me. She offered me a job at the new salon. I am going to meet with her later this week and then make a decision one way or the other (a no-brainer ;) ). I will have to go thru training there to learn how to do hair color but she said they are way more layed back there about everything. I wouldn't even have to drive to work!

I am feeling a little better already :D
