Sleepy Saturday Morning

Good Morning all,
It's dark and cold outside. Good time to be snuggled up in bed, but as usual the fur kids have other ideas. Since I had to get up and put them out, at it's after 7 here, may as well stay up, although my body says bed. Oh well, life with fur kids isn't always like we want it, right And of course, they are all snuggled up in their beds, snoozing away
The big snowstorm is now history and the digging out is over here for now. We figure we got about 14 inches minimum from it here. I jumped in and helped dig out yesterday, while to owner plowed and plowed. Spent about 3 hours with the snow shovel. Enjoyed it though. Good way to get some exercise and be soutside for awhile. The girls got a walk later in the lafternoon after the road got plowed.
But I did get some bad news from the home front yesterday in that the heavy wet snow down there along with the high winds, brought down at least 4 trees in my yard. One looks like it may have hit a section of my fence where the fence gate is and damage that area, but nothing done ot my garage or house according to my neighbot. I asked if I should come back home and he said no, nothing can be done right now anyway with the holidays and all, which is true. So i will stay up here and finish out my two weeks and then head home and deal with it. It could be something I will talk to the insurance company about, but here again, as long as it's the holidays, nothing will get done anyway. Plus there's so much snow on it all right now. From what I saw ofthe pictures he sent me via his Iphone, I may just leave a couple of them tll the weathe breaks. We shall see. I asked another friend if she happens to be by my place while out snowmobiling, if she would stop and take some pictures with her camera, so I can better see just what's going on.
So that kind of put a damper on my fun a bit, knowing that is going on down there. My neighbor who is watching my house is the one who's house I was watching this summer and also takinng care of their yard while his wife had lung transplant surgery. It is ice of him to return the favor by watching mine and taking in my mail, but this is a bit much along with clearing my drive from the snow. But by the same token, had I been one of those folks who head south for the winter or part of it, it would make no difference anyway. Just like Irmi and the flooding from Sandy. Knew it happening and that there would be a mess to clean up, but was way down in GA and would deal with it when they got home. It's happened, you can't do anything about it, so you just deal with it as best and when you can. In my case, it's just trees, they can be cut up and hauled away.
So the big holiday weekend has finally arrived. The shortest day has come and gone, the world didn't come to an end and we are all still here. Now to enjoy the holidays, friends, family or whatever one is doing. I"m heading into town this morning to pick u a few things today and tomorow will be heading for church and a church decorating thing afterwards. So the weekend will be a bit busy. It's beautiful up here with all the snow, so will be taking camera along today too.
So guess it's time to get some breakfast going here since I'm the first one up and nobody's gonna fix it for me. I have bacon and eggs here, along with toast if anybody wants some. Also good cold OJ. Breakfast pickings are a bit slim at the moment. Might stop at the bakery and get a cinnamon roll while I am out. They are so good and the size of a loaf of bed. LIke everything else in the U.P>, things come big
Have a wonderful day all.
