Tuesday's sunrise behind my site at St. Andrews State Park near Panama City. Nan and I are looking forward to a great week here. I'm getting ready to head out on a hike as soon as I can find a hiking trail.

Rumors abound, so I have an announcement to make....see the pet section later.

Have a Image kind of day!

Wonderful sunrise picture. I cannot wait to get to FL too. Will be there next month finally. That was a great way to start my day, seeing that picture and your surprise too!

Today is a travel day. Heading down the road to spend a month in MS with DB and SIL. Cannot wait to see them this afternoon. Finishing up my last cup of coffee before getting ready to get everything stowed, tanks emptied and all the other things that have to be done to take off. Planning on leaving between 10 and 11 this morning since we only have about 130 miles to go today. SIL is making supper for us, so don't have to worry or think about that.

Realized Buddy Bird was really a girl bird, so Birdie helped rename her to Betty Bird. Thanks Birdie! Betty Bird is her normal morning self. Lots of chirping and letting us know she is here. Love it. Listening to her is a very cheerful sound. She stops to listen when I go over and talk to her.

Finishing up my coffee and have to get my rear in gear to get everything done.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

GOOD MORNING ALL.

It was brought to my attention that I should not have used the words "I know exactly what the parents of the dead children are feeling" as, for sure, my baby was not found riddled with bullets in a violent death. But a dead child is a dead child. All the hopes for her life and all the experiences and all the dreams and all the hopes for a long life of sharing were suddenly over. All the birthdays and Christmases and celebrations and shared activities and laughter and life-long experiences that a parent looks forward to came to a screeching halt just as surely as if she had been riddled with bullets. Forgive me if I seem callous in comparing an easy death to a violent death.....but, as a mother, the result was identical. My child was gone forever. It was an unexpected end in all cases----not the result of an illness, which might have been prepared for, or possibly anticipated. Alive one minute, dead the next. And that is all I meant when I said I was able to feel what those parents are feeling. I suppose an easy death can never be compared to a violent death? I suppose I should feel blessed that I just woke up to a dead baby with no holes in her. But she was just as cold and just as dead after going to bed laughing and warm and happy.

Sorry to begin the day like this, but this has affected me much more deeply than I could ever have anticipated. Forgive me if I assumed I can feel the agony of those parents. I suspect anybody who is a parent can feel it. I am sorry if I offended any of you who may have had children die violently.

Soos, I think many mothers thoughts were with you yesterday when you told of loosing your baby girl. I, for one feel so deeply for all of those parents, loosing a grand baby 19yrs ago, I know of all the hopes and dreams involved when loosing a little one. Walking into a bedroom expecting to pick up a laughing ,wiggly little one or sending a child off to school, and they don't come home. It's all terribly tragic and mothers empty arms, it's a horrendous thing for any to endure !!!!

The real crime, is if someone knew he had any ideas of harming others, especially such innocent children. We all need to be more aware.

Sometimes we need an outlet for our deepest of life's hurts,

Soos ((((HUGS) I am so sorry someone was so thoughtless of your feelings to voice an opinion like that to you. It is not you who should ask for forgiveness.

Thank you for the lovely sunrise picture Liz and I am so happy about your news!! Dawn, I like the name Betty Bird. enjoy your visit with your brother and SIL.

It is sunny here this morning and I am going to face the fact that Christmas really is coming SOON and I have to go shopping. Will try to leave soon and maybe it won't be so crazy.

Good morning everyone. What a beautiful sunrise picture, LIz. A little story RE: Florida and sunrise. My oldest daughter got married in 1995 and honeymooned at Disneyworld. She grew up at the beach in SoCal and then Hawaii and never been to the east coast. One day they drove to an east coast beach. Had a great day and to a beautiful seafood restaurant and sat there as dusk approached. The waitress asked if everything was Ok because they had been sitting there for a long time. They said, "oh, we're just waiting for the sunset." The waitress looked at them and didn't quit know how to explain the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. DD caught the look on the waitress' face and immediately turned red of embarrassment and then they both could not stop laughing at themselves. After all, they are both teachers

Soos, so sorry for your loss. I know the hurt never goes, but eases with time for any mother that lost a child no matter what age or circumstance. Our children are suppose to outlive us and it is a tragedy when something changes the natural order of things. HUGS to all mothers.

It is a beautiful, sunny morning. Hi 77, low 48. I am going to finish putting a simple string of lights along the roofline this morning. I wasn't going to do it this year. Just not in the mood. Most of the houses on our street (10 out of 12) have lights. When I came home from visiting with Birdie and Sprinter I noticed that our next door neighbor acquiesced and put some up. So I got in the spirit and got them up half way. I found these clips that you put on the end of any extending pole and its easy. But there is a section I have to climb a 20ft ladder. I was up there by myself last night, but decided to wait for DH to be there and catch me if I fall  So hopefully, I'll get that finished today. Actually the outdoor lights just give me a little bit more Christmas spirit. HO HO HO.

I love the sand near Panama City. It's like white powder. I had to bring my DH a bottle of sand when we camped there years ago. He loves sand. I can't tell you how many truck loads of sand we hauled here when he built his arena. He had me driving an old rice truck with questionable brakes. We don't have pretty sand like that.

Yesterday I was messing around with my motorhome and decided to check the air in the tires. One of the inside dual tires was completely flat. I aired it up and took off for the tire place. Seems like one of the valve stems was bad. It is always something with my tires. I need to get one of the monitor systems but the valve stems are not long enough on the front. I have ask several places about longer ones and they act like they don't know what I'm talking about. Need to ask at one of the RV places and see if they can recommend a tire place. It felt good to be driving it even if it was just to the tire place.

I have been watching the weather forecast and it looks like a roller coaster. I'm hoping it's not cold in Florida. Not into cold weather camping.

Martha, I recommend the tire extenders...makes it so much easier to check and fill tires....especially the inside duallys in back.

I have had ones put on at an RV place....but the best I got are the last ones I ordered with the new tires (before heading to Alaska) I got those from a tire store that also does a lot of trucks. It is a local company and not a national shop.

The products are not all made the same...nor do they have the same reputation for holding up.....

The price on Tire monitoring systems has come down in the past 4 years....they are about half what they were when I bought my first system. (you should be able to get a system for under $300.) And, yes, another system that give some peace of mind.....

I have extenders on my rear tires and have had for years. There is no way to check the air without them. I don't know why they put such small holes in the rims on motorhomes. My DH has a truck with dual tires and the holes in the rims are twice as big. The extenders seem to be able to work themselves loose and lose air. I was out checking my tires this morning and it looks like one of the extenders they put on yesterday is loosing air. Will watch it today and probably be back to the tire place tomorrow. I can tell by the way they act they don't want to have to mess with the extenders but oh well.

Donna, we have a farm so have a big electric air compressor at home. On the road I carry one of the 12 volt compressors for trucks. The cords are just barely long enough to reach my back tires but it works.

Soos, I'm sorry for whatever message you received and I agree with BJ, you should not be the one asking for forgiveness.
