Foggy U.P. Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Foggy U.P. Morning

Postby Colliemom » Sun Dec 16, 2012 8:20 am

Good Morning from Michigan's Upper Peninsula,

A bit of a foggy morning here this morning. Supposed to be having rain/snow mix since yesterday and nothing here at all. Seems to be all around us. With my luck it will start when I get ready to leave for church  There's a small Catholic church about 5 miles up the road from here, so thought I would pay it a visit today.

Otherwise nothing much going on here. Just working on a sign I am trying to finish and with luck, may have it ready for the varnish later today. Then will start another one that I want to work on. Have about 3 more I want to do while I am here.

Going to be a "rest" day as far as doing anything else is concerned. The dogs are tired. Not eating and sleeping a lot. I have them out of their routines and it probably caught up with them. Was like that last weekend too after the drive up here and a day of walking etc, the next day. They zonked for a day and then were ready to roll again. Old ladies can't take a lot of this you know

Soos and Judy sound like they had a neat GTG. Am waiting patiently like all the rest of you, for some pics. I know Judy has to get the last of her school papers and such taken care of along with moving to another campground etc. Liz and Nan are going to be together over the holidays, Ava and Beth just had a GTG and I think there were or are a couple of others getting together too. Can't keep track of them all.

And Li is getting ready for her last week of work. Yea. I sure am glad to see you posting again Li.

Othwise nothing new on this end. So am heading off herea and getting my day started. Have a wonderful day all, keep safe if you are traveling, wishing health and happiness to the rest of you.

Good morning Sue, and those to follow. Lots of mini gtgs. I had a mini gtg with Birdie and Sprinter. They are staying at a park close to MD Anderson for Sprinter's tests and treatment plans. Also got the chance to meet another Pink Flamingo, Vicki A. We had a fun time doing what we love: talking story (a term used in Hawaii for a gab fest  ). Planning to see them again Mon or Tues.

It is grey, overcast, raining and thunderstorms today. But warm and muggie. Lo 60, hi 75. We have had a real roller coaster ride with our weather so far. Maggie is on her way to the Grand Canyon and I hope she missed this storm while heading west. Our 5er is now back in the drive way and I am starting to clean it from our last trips. A good rainy day project. It went straight from the boot camp to the dealer. So it is in need of cleaning and start to get ready for our trip in January.

Stay safe on the roads and have a great day. Aloha y'all

good morning ladies
nothing important going on in my world right now. Laundry that didn't get done yesterday and then go play with the baby this
afternoon. Other than that, Sunday is my day for relaxation.
Hope everyone else has a great Sunday. Be safe and be warm.

Good morning gals! The dog woke me up to go out, or I would still be sleeping now.

Had a great time on my date last night! There was a really good band playing that you could hear all the way up to my apartment (up 3 floors and all across the building!). We sat and chatted in between songs and had a really nice time. Some drunk lady got us up to dance which I haven't done for ages! He is a very nice guy with an infectious smile. (Sorry Mitch, no pictures!) He even kissed me goodnight and then sent me a text saying how much fun he had and wants to get together again.

Today, I am going to a Christmas get together with my mom's side of the family. All the women get together for our annual Secret Pal. Then I will head to Walmart to finish up my shopping (hopefully!). Tomorrow, I have my annual physical (actually been 2 years since I had one). Hope I get a clean bill of health there.

Yesterday it rained all day and today it is cold and icy all over. Hopefully the roads are OK. Have a lot of driving to do today.

Hope you all have a good day and have fun!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Good morning friends! It's a rainy drippy morning here in Ala as elsewhere I see. Sue. glad you are having a good time. A change of scenery is always nice. Glad you found a church, and know all the churches today will be remembering those sweet little kids and heroic teachers. barbie, how are we to vote yeah or nay if no pictures???? how old is he, what does he do? Just a little bit nosy! Got up too early today. I have already vacuumed the den and the kitchen, in preperation to run the steam mop over the kitchen. I could use the Pepper hair to make me a new dog! I'd love a different kitchen floor, but have reached to point to spend no more on this house! Ya'll have a great FUN and SAFE day! Wendy

Good morning everyone. It's cloudy and not too cold here this morning. Wendy you sound full of energy, come up and inspire me!

Barbie, he sounds promising so far to me! He talks, smiles and dances, plus he sent you a message to say he enjoyed the evening. Mitch, I remember Barbie saying he was cute when she first moved in and saw him in the hall.

I hope it is warmer at church today, the heating system is supposedly some sort of energy efficient one and doesn't come on until there are people in the room or something weird and it takes forever to heat up. The children are putting on the service this morning though and that is always enjoyable.
Enjoy your day all.

Good morning Ladies! I actually managed NOT to get up at 5 when I woke up in yet another hot flash. I am back on the HRT patch. I tried to get off, but the quality of life was awful. As many have said before, Better Living Through Chemistry!

Barb, you have to get a pic posted...some of us haven't had a date in so long...we need to live vicariously thru you!

Sounds like nearly everyone is under grey skies...including us here in SoCal. Part of me is glad for the cool air...helps those hot flashes abate.

Am going to actually leave the house today...felt puny yesterday, and didn't even get dressed. But I need to move a little today...and get the last Christmas present posted. I got really excited on Friday when I got home and had two boxes at the front door. Then I looked at them and realized they were the cats food! Hahaha! The fur girls were happy, tho!

Must get going..hearing the rain will start around noon! Talk atcha all later!

Morning everyone, what's left of it. Have not been moving really quickly here. It's been raining since just after 6 this morning. I got the dogs out right before the heavens opened up. Now Belle scratches to go out, but when I take her out, she just turns around and wants back up the steps. The boys just raise their heads and look at me as if to say, "Are you nuts? It's wet out there!"

Ordered a flight cage last night. Finally found one with the right dimensions for Buddy Bird and probably one or two more. I know he gets lonely and I cannot let him out since Luke knows how to open the bedroom door. I had closed all the dogs in the bedroom to let Buddy out when Luke pushed the door open and stuck his nose out. I will probably get a hook for that door so I can close them up in there when I need to. Then I would be able to give the birds some flight time. I am loving having my rolling menagerie. I guess since I have been surrounded by dogs, birds and fish most of my life. Makes me feel more like this is home with my critters.

Hopefully it will quit raining this afternoon so we can go visit the Historic Site tomorrow before we leave on Tuesday. I also want to take the nature walk before we go. Found it yesterday when I was walking the dogs. It was way too overgrown to take Belle down, so we turned around and didn't venture very far.

Barbie, pictures at some point are definitely in order.

Red, so glad you got to spend time with Birdie and Sprinter along with Vickie yesterday. I know that was fun.

Everyone have a wonderful day and if you are traveling (Maggie), stay safe.

The weather radio alarm woke us up this morning at 5:30. Every time that thing goes off I stumble around trying to find out what is making that noise. Now days there are so many things that have alarms and strange noises. The radar shows the rain from Houston all the way across the country to the East. The severe thunderstorm box is Northwest of us. I don't know how fast it is moving but we will probably be getting rain later today.

Didn't get much done yesterday but make cake balls. I might make some cookies this afternoon. I have finally lost 5 pounds so don't really need any cookies around. Hard to make Christmas goodies and not eat them.

I hope someone calls the wildlife people about the Manatee. Maybe they can help it. Some people are just nuts and mean. They released some Sandhill Cranes on a refuge West of here. Some low life shot one for no reason.

Agree, that someone needs to be called to help the manatee. They are such sweet, nonviolent creatures. He/she needs to be helped. I'd call SeaWorld myself, but I don't know where you are Grammynmaggie! Please call someone...even 911 should be able to help. These are seriously endangered and protected creatures...they deserve our help!
