Good morning all! :D Heard on the news that the "flew" is rampant in several states, especially the sothern states--TX, AL, LA etc!! Cases locally spiked from abot 90 to 700 reported in the past several days--YIKES! I did get a shot this year--battled both flew & pnewmonia this past spring & don't want to go threwgh that again! Hope y'all stay healthy, with or withowt the shots! Have ins now, so shots were totally free for me! :D Also with ins, I'll have my first--in 5-6 years--gyno appt this morn! Hate those exams  I imagine Kathleen & Red have no sympathy for me ;) ; certainly a trip to the "yerologist" is eqwally abhorant???? Warm everywhere! To be in the 60's here today!!! Then winter?? They keep saying we'll have winter someday... LOVE that we can GTG anytime! Thanks for that enlightenment, Lori! BTW, yew, Ernie & Spinner foll-time??? I see yew spend sommers in PA--a home or yore rig??? Heck, will need to visit yew next sommer! :D Great for yew, BJ, that Toby's episode with yore glasses didn't cost yew an arm & leg!!! ..Will get to posting the recipe for "cooccidatas"--I too don't relish figs other than Fig Newtons or these cookies which are better than Newtons--choc chips & n-ts in the coocci's!!!! Never had fig jam....Y'all have a great day!!! Nice chatting with yew each morning!!! :P

Good Morning Carolb, Lori & Ernie and all who follow,

Carol, sure do enjoy you morning posts. Always so upbeat and cheerful :) And yes, I know just what you mean about those "checkups". Mine was easy this year, but still have to have the mammo done yet and she wants me to get a colonoscopy done as well  I'm wondering it thats' really nessacery unless one has a problem, which I don't.

Well, more of a cloudy day this morning so far and not as much if hardly any fog. Been foggy, dark and damp for the past 4 days. I know, no sympathy from those on the West Coast especially in the PNW  Might have a little lake effect "white stuff" late tonight and tomorrow morning, but nothing to be concerned with. I'm loving this nice mild weather too, but the downnside is, the longer it hangs around this time of year, the longer it takes spring to get her act together. Last year it was almost June.

Ms. Tessa continues to do well. Is eating her food and seems to be a bundle of energy for the most part. Right now she is munching on a rawhide bone while her mother (Sassy) mourns the fact that she can't eat that yummy dog food that Tessa gets  Sorry. Can't have. She got her own food, just doesn't want it. It's possible that if she continues along with no problems, I might just head north yet. Won't know till Thursday for sure.

All this talk of RVing and GTG's sure makes me want to get out there again. So many wonderful people to meet and places to see. All in due time. Be patient I tell myself.

Got a real exciting day planned here today. House cleaning! Would rather be doing somethin else, but it will smelll so nice and fresh when I am done. Also hair cut day as well.

So with that in mind, guess it's time to get started. The sooner I get into it, the sooner i am done. Usually take me a couple of hours or so as I have some rooms not being used, so just need to run vac and dust them. And I don't have a lot of knick nacks around either.

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Good morning Carolb, Lori and all!

Glad to hear Tessa is doing so much better and eating well. Poor Sassy, she just doesn't understand why Tessa is getting such a "treat".

Got my sewer hose problem completely fixed yesterday and my bin disinfected again. Hopefully for the last time for quite a while. Had lunch with my DD yesterday and she made my day when she told me "Daddy would be so proud of you". We talked about how it was hard that we probably wouldn't be able to see each other for about a year until she brought up the fact that she was thinking about surprising the granddaughters with a trip to Disney World next summer. I told her we could meet her there and I could see about getting a site in the Disney RV park. Told her if she and the girls wanted, they could just stay in rig with us. We got excited thinking this would be a once in a lifetime trip for the girls and us too. I have never been and have always wanted to go. Chuck and I always laughed because had we had the opportunity for a honeymoon, that was where I wanted to go. Back then, he was working 7 days a week. He even had to go to work the night we got married. Thank goodness my plans can be jello plans. When she finals up her plans and knows dates, I can make my reservations.

Thank goodness I won't be close to another CW for quite awhile. Spent another $600 there yesterday getting things I need like tire covers. A handheld CB radio to be able to keep in touch with Paul more easily when on the road. I also started getting replacement LED lights for my rig. I got an Extend A Stay also so it will be easier to keep propane full without having to take rig or having propane delivered. Less expensive too. From here on out, I should be able to order from my own website and get the commission. I couldn't do that before because everything was so big and company has a rule that I could not have my stuff delivered to store for installation. If they were doing installation, they had to do the ordering. I also figured it out and shipping charges would have eaten up my commissions. They did drop the ball and forgot to order my replacement tire monitor that was not working when that system was installed. They found the note in all my paperwork that they were supposed to get a replacement for that monitor and that I was going to pick it up at the end of November. They called the company that makes that monitor system and they are going to drop ship a new monitor to me at my DB's house in MS. In the meantime, I get to keep hearing the constant beeping that one of the tow vehicle's tires has no air pressure. It is very startling when the full alarm goes off from time to time. I am reaching quickly to reset the monitor after jumping in my seat.

Just a couple more days hopefully before we leave, but we may have to extend for a day. Paul came down yesterday to say he could not find the ignition key to his rig. If he could not find it last night, he and Mom are going to have to go to Chevy house to see if they can get number and make a new key. If not, he has to order a new ignition switch and have it installed. I helped him retrace his steps for everywhere we had been outside the day before, went to the dump station, all around my rig, around his to no avail. I am hoping he found them inside his rig last night. I am getting hitch itch and ready to head on down the road again.

Time to go get another cup of coffee. Everyone have a great day and if you are traveling, stay safe.

Good Morning from two hundred miles south of where I was yesterday morning !! :D Yes, I am really covering the miles fast  Beautiful country, nice back roads and I am thoroughly enjoying my trip. Did have a flaw in plans yesterday, place I intended to stop for night, have stopped there several times before, sites are on the water, are leasing by the yr and don't take overnighters. But I didn't get upset!! It was in the middle of the afternoon . So figured I was supposed to travel farther. Did hate leaving the water though, and they lost a regular ;)

Oh did you ever confuse me Beth ! Me the one who knows so much about these computers NOT   It was 7and showing 9 and I move slow but at that rate I would not have gotten on the road before it was time to stop !, You did make good sense , just kidding here, but not about my puter skills.

Moving into the Eastern time zone in couple of hrs, so it's really getting late

just checking in and wanted to wish you all a Great day, Thanks Carol for info of states effected by flu outbreaIk, gotta get out of here, had shot, But !!! Had Pnuemonia shot too and we all know how well that worked on me !! so many strains of these bugs, but get the shot every body and stay out of Wal mart, LOl that's where they assume I got my bug. Sue get that test done , shouldn't put off something like that, you could have trouble and not know it in your colon until you'd really have a battle on your hands and at that stage your chances are not good. We don't want to loose ya !! DO IT !!!!!!

Maggie wants my attention, Bye !!

Good morning everyone. Thanks for the flu update. I've put off getting my flu shot this year. However DH gave me an article from a biz journal written by a doc assoc with CDC. Said the CDC tracks flu out breaks by the spikes in heart attacks and strokes in ppl over 50!! When you have flu, there is inflammation. Inflammation helps precipitate heart attacks and strokes. The study showed that people over 50 that get flu shots reduce their risk of heart attack by a significant amount. Can't remember the %. So all of us old farts should get our flu shots or protect us from the flu AND other bad stuff.

Today I take Tyler to the vet. Don't know if it is city, county or state, but they only give borditella shot every 6mos. In Hawaii, it was an annual immunization. Anyway, Tyler gets his 6 mo shot and we will discuss various options to help relieve his arthritis pain.

The weather is warm again today. I have no complaints. I hate the summers here. This weather is wonderful. High 80, low 60. I love being outdoors and this is such perfect weather. No complaints here :P

Lori and Ernie are off again heading east. Dawn has hitch itch (don't we all?). Tessa is doing better. Everyone have a great day and stay safe. Aloha y'all

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

I see that the north and east is having unusually balmy weather for the first of December. Vermontville (back home) is already at 45 tooday, and Pierrepont, where Orion lives, is already at 57 degrees! Enjoy it all while you may, everyone. It is 65 here now, and sunny per usual.

My job for today will be to finish installing the hardware cloth along the bottom of the screening in the porch room so that Miss Dinah cannot push her nose through the weak splining and escape! I need to go buy two more rolls, a tool to undo and rescrew the metal screws which are square-shaped in the turn slots, like most RV screws are, just to be annoying to those of us with either regular or phillips screw drivers. I also forgot to bring my cordless driver back from the trailer, so I am using screws and holes that are already there to temporarilly put up the barrier.

Hopefully my present to the kids in St. Cloud might arrive today, and my new queen mattress set is due on Thursday from Macy's. Yesterday I got my prescriptions from my home drug store forwarded to the Publix pharmacy down here, got 'em all renewed so I am set for another 3 months, or so. I am hoping the vet at home will call Publix so I can get more phenobarbital for Dinah. If not, I will need to call them back.

Bike riding is my fun and activity plannned for today as I cannot get my legs wet yet in either the pool or the hot tub. I will also fill in the hole in the front yard made by those baby bunnies I moved a couple of weeks ago, so that nobody (namely ME) will break an ankle in it.

Many have been contemplating the end of the Mayan calendar on the 21st of this month----if everything comes to a screeching halt on the Solstice, I wonder who will take note for history?!!! :geek:

Hope you all have a wonderful day wherever you may be and whatever you may be doing.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Morning! I need to call and make appts for Oscar and Jazz for their shots. Thanks for reminding me, Red.

And don't you love this crazy weather? I had fog driving to work this morning but it was almost 70. Hopefully more rain today and then a slight cool off tonight.

I have a Christmas party tonight but it's way too warm to wear my red sweater. So I'm wearing St. Patty's green polo. Maybe I look like an overgrown leprechaun masquerading as an elf!!!

Good Morning all - the birds are loud in the trees and the sun has just popped over the palm trees. It is going to be another hot day here in Mazatlan. Wish it would cool down just a little bit.
today we are taking our friends and their 3 yr old inland to the small town of El Quelite. Should be an adventure. We are not used to traveling with 3 year old, forgot how much they talk and talk and talk. And squeal. any way....
Took the jeep in to dealer yesterday and had him checked out - turns out the problem with the transmission was just a sensor - so they reset ALL the sensors and that should take care of it. No charge.
Travel safe and stay well.

Slept in again today, and spent some time this morning using my hair dryer to dry out the mat/carpeting under the sink. The drain pipes came apart last night while I was doing dishes and got everything soaked under there with dirty water. I added some cleaner with hydrogen perozide to hopefully reduce the smell and blotted as much as I could up with nearby a whole roll of paper towel. Now I am periodically hitting it with a hair dryer, but you can bet I will soon be putting some peel and stick tiles down under there!!!

My other problem from yesterday, a mysterious fan running under my bed, turned out to be the fan to my converter motor. It finally shut itself down late, and now that I know what it is, I will not worry about it when I hear it. I was clueless that the lights ran on 12 volt from the batteries, even when I was plugged in, so batteries had to be continually charging. I called CoachNet very late last night and they answered my questions and also got a repair shop to see me today. I called them and said my problem had been solved and thanked them.

Once I grade a couple of papers, I will ride my bike into St Augustine. It is 3 miles along a flat road, so should not be a problem, but yesterday my legs, knees, and feet were still sore from my long beach walk. Need to get into better shape!!

Good Morning,

Dawn, I hope the Disney World plans come together! It is so much fun! I even enjoy it going alone.

Sue, I have to agree that a colonoscopy can show things you are not aware of. My much younger sister just had one and had polyps removed. That said, I have never had one, and at this point doubt I ever will.

Judy, I cannot imagine having a fan running under my bed, but I am glad you now know what it is.

Nothing exciting here today - yet....

Everyone have a good day!

   Maggie, on your Christmas outfit. I have a Christmas party on the 12th and was wondering if the weather would be cool enough to wear a Christmas sweater. That's about the only time I ever try to wear a sweater. It's raining here today so don't think it will make it to 80 again.

I think it was at Walmart where I got my telescoping brush to wash my motorhome. They also sell several kinds of cleaners for RV's. I usually use the one that says it washes and waxes. I don't think it waxes very much but it cleans good. The motorhome I had before I would wash half one day and half the next day. No way would I be paying $400 for a wash job.

Anita, colon problems run in families. If your sister had polyps it's a good chance you do to. My grandmother and dad died from colon cancer and you don't want to do that. I have to go again soon.

Dawn, did Paul look in the little door that covers the water hook up for his keys. I can't tell you how many times I have left mine hanging out there. We stayed at Disney's Fort Wilderness 25 years ago and the kids loved it. Hopefully it's still the same. We could ride the buses from the campground to any of the Disney parks. I parked my motorhome and didn't move all week.

Since some are discussing washing RVs, FYI I posted some information in Maintenance/Technical about a neat way to wash your RV/MH.

Martha, thank you as I did not know polyps ran in families. You may have changed my mind. I had already been searching for a doctor who accepts Humana. My late DH was diagnosed with colon cancer just a few months after having a colonoscopy so what was the point? He had Crohn's disease so had regular colonoscopies. They did say later that it 'might' have started on his appendix. Anyway, my personal preference is to not go through extensive cancer treatment, but a polyp could be removed.
